Obama=>Like McCain, a misogynist, blogger kidnapping, and Obama Community Pages
Edited on Sat Apr-05-08 10:34 PM by UALRBSofL
A)Saying Obama and McCain are "not as far apart as some people say" is deadly for Obama in the Democratic primary, in case you've been asleep for the last year. Let me also remind you that Sullivan is a devout Obama cheerleader. In light of a second Obama surrogate going off reservation on Iraq and residual troop numbers, I'd say we've got another verification that what Senator Obama is saying on the campaign trail is not at all related to the reality he knows he'll face in '09, should he be our nominee. Though it is clearly not being conveyed to voters, who actually are buying Obama's baloney.

B)While flirting with female factory workers in Allentown, he called one "sweetie," a paternalistic way to address a woman if there ever was one. It might have worked had he been trying to do his best imitation of Lily Tomlin's Ernestine, the telephone operator, but this was no spoof. This was Obama trying to relate to working-class women in a way that went directly south.

C)This hospital story is so convoluted, but that didn't keep the Obama blogs from picking it up, doing what they do best in missing the story entirely. Big Tent Democrat lays it out so I don't have to. The bottom line is not in the headline of the original story on the matter, but in the final line of the piece: Neither paper named the hospital or challenged Mrs. Clinton’s account. That's because Clinton didn't name the hospital. It's a bad game of telephone all 'round.

D)Satire in the age of Candidate Hope. Interesting also that Obama fans can report offensive posts within his community pages, but no one did in this case, with the above posted back on February 14, 2008. So if you have any doubt about what African American supporters of Clinton are experiencing, this should clarify it. The courage of those sticking with Clinton cannot be overestimated.

1. Once again, fine sourcing!
What does your series of letters stand for? I have some zingers, but I have been asked to be nicer. So I will. Instead, you are now ignored.

2. The entire Obama campaign is nothing more than a marketing scheme.
Also, it seems that Sullivan may be looking for a way back to McCain in the fall.
The right wing (whom hates the Clintons and Democrats in general) has been very supportive of Obama for one reason only, to get rid of the Clintons. Once they are out of the picture, they can go back to being right wingers.

But hey, Obama and his surrogates had no problem smearing the Clintons. So what comes around goes around.

See this:
"Again, I've said for over a year now that we will not be able to get out of Iraq completely or as soon as any of us would like (I was against going in), getting a lot of grief for stating the fact. Obama has been disingenuous at best about military reality in Iraq, for which the Obama blogs, led by the traditional media, including cable, led by Keith Olbermann, Eugene Robinson and Richard Wolffe, have all responded with a collective yawn, or worse, group fawning for their political idol."

5. AX11 I am aware of him stating not getting out of iraq
I believe he stated he wouldn't be able to start pulling brigades out until around 2010 or 2011. And he wants to leave between 80,000 to 100,00 troops in Iraq permanently. I believe the public is catching on.

6. But that undercuts a big reason for people to vote for him.
If he is going to nothing radically different than the others, then why vote for him on this issue?

I do see a permanent security force of 50,000 or so being left in Iraq.
HRC knows this, McCain knows this, and Obama knows this.
The difference is that Obama has made a HUGE promise that is the backbone of his campaign, and he cannot keep it.

11. progressive?
He's gone way out of his way to seem middle-of-the road on many issues: health care, affirmative action, Iraq, etc. Maybe he feels this makes him more electable, and maybe he'll become more progressive after elected. Or maybe he'll just be another Condi or Colin. I admire Hillary for taking more progressive stances, and feel the party should veer left, given our experience of the last eight years. Being accommodating and bipartisan makes no sense when the country has been ruined after eight years of Republican rule. We'll need to rebuild our institutions.

15. Immediate begining to withdrawl taking over a period of 16 months - shorter than hillary's phased
withdraw timeline, which clocks in at over 20 months. Obama would have all combat troops out by 2010, Clinton by 2011, according to MSNBC last night, and Obamas own written Iraq policy.

7. marketing campaign
The Obama campaign is a marketing scheme in the sense that they've adopted the Republican penchant for talking points. Case in point: she voted for the IWR. No matter that Obama was not in a position to vote on it, nor that he's lately come to say that the troops will stay in Iraq for another 12 mos, then 18 mos, or maybe a little longer. No matter that Kerry authorized the same resolution, because when he endorsed Obama, he became sacred. The Obama campaign has been successful with this approach, as were the Right before them.

4. Have you seen Obama's voting record? There is no question he is a liberal
Have you seen Hillary's voting record? There is no question she is a liberal

Have you seen mccain's voting record? There is no question that he is an EXTREME RIGHT WINGER

Let's continue to distort our candidates records so maybe we can lose in the general election

8. Yes, I do remember 8 years ago when people were saying there wasn't a big
difference between Gore and bush. Anyone now saying there's no big difference between Gore and bush? Let's try to keep the ultra looney people out of the white house.
