Columnist Bonnie Erbe's "Rape" problem.

Bonnie Erbe, who seems rather offended that Obama dared call a woman "sweetie", didn't seem to mind joking about rape when it suited her. Color me revolutionary, but isn't a joke about rape just a tad more obnoxious than calling someone a term that millions use towards people everyday?

On the weekend of the so-called Million Mom March, conservative panelist Linda Chavez of the Center for Equal Opportunity explained why she recently broke a liberal taboo by buying a gun at a gun show: "If you're someone like me, who lives out in a rural area-if someone breaks into my house and wants to murder or rape me or steal all of my property, it'll take half an hour for a policeman to get to me."

Liberal Eleanor Holmes Norton disputed the usefulness of guns. Erbe dismissed the argument altogether: "And if you look at the statistics, I would bet that you have a greater chance of being struck by lightning, Linda, than living where you live, and at your age, being raped. Sorry." Before anyone could react, Erbe moved the discussion to a new topic. Can you imagine a man telling Chavez that?

Now, I hate Chavez as much as the next self-respecting Democrat, but even a rape joke goes beyond my level of hate. I'm kinda like that.

However, I don't care what Erbe or any other anti-gun advocate tells me. As long as I live in my very rural home, alone with my son, my .45 will never be more than ten feet from me.

I'm with Chavez on this one...as long as there's a chance, I'm gonna be locked and loaded.

I just don't care enough to do that. I take opinion pieces for what they are--one person's opinion, representative of nothing more than that one person's opinion.

Obama is the type of guy who sees a young women and thinks of what his mother went through and what his own daughters will face.

many politicians havee different standards for their own family and for others. but Obama is not like that.
