RNC Mocks Kerry for being wealthy with game, "Kerryopoly" |
|
Players begin with just $40,000 in Kerryopoly money, the average national household income. "After a few trips around the board, most players will be millions of dollars in debt, proving that John Kerry's lifestyle is out of reach and out of sync with most Americans," RNC communications director Jim Dyke said in a statement.
Three leading Republicans in the federal government — President Bush (news - web sites), Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites) and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist of Tennessee — are multimillionaires. Asked Tuesday if their lifestyles also were out of reach of most Americans, RNC spokeswoman Christine Iverson responded "no" but declined to elaborate. How do they get away with this crap?! Their hypocrisy is unbelievable. Do Republicans really believe the Chimp is a regular middle-class yahoo, rather than an idiotic millionaire yahoo? http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=694&ncid=696&e=7&u=/ap/20040601/ap_on_el_pr/rnc_kerryopoly

1. I wish he would be Kennedy-esque about his money. They had it |
|
but didn't wallow in it publicly with expensive toys, villas, etc. The Kennedy's enjoyed their wealth in a more WASPY, behind-the-scenes way at their compound. The most ostentatious home they had was the one in Palm Beach and I don't recall seeing any photos of it. His money, homes, gadgets will definitely be played up in the oncoming months.

2. This will clearly backfire. |

All Kerry has to do is ask Dubya, "How much are YOU worth?"

The hypocrisy that the RNC is riddled with has reared its ugly head. Their candidate has run oil companies into the ground, destroyed a baseball club, and received "Get Out Of Jail Free" cards all on his name, and they have the gall to poke at Kerry's wealth.
We all know Kerry is wealthy. The difference is that he doesn't try to tell us any different.

3. Imagine the other way around! |

I'm imagining a similar game following GOP's rules for America. You start out with a poverty wage then try to pay the bills and send your kids to college on that wage. Then maybe you try to start a business but the Wal-Mart down the road undercuts you. You're spouse gets cancer but your insurance won't cover him/her. Your child has asthma because nothing was done to cut back on pollution. You try to help your kid with his school project but find that the library has been closed due to lack of funding. (Isn't lending books considered a "hand-out" anyway! You should be buying your own books on the free market!....") Well, you could go on.........
Oops..edited to add that I guess I may not have understood what this game was all about. I thought it meant how we would live under Kerry's policies. Did it mean how we would live if we were Kerry? That's just dumb. Everyone knows Bush has Waaaaaaay more $$ than Kerry. They're such hypocrites.

5. Wow, you should email that idea to the DNC!! |
|
That's a very good counter. If they don't do it, somebody else should.
Go to Jail, do not pass GO, no lawyer, no phone calls, no charges...
Job outsourced, go back ten spaces...
Contaminated water, you get sick, lose a turn...

8. uh oh, $40,000 average |
|
They let the cat out of the bag. I hope EVERYBODY goes to this thing and sees that most families are living on less than $40,000 a year. I think THAT will be the real eye-opener!
