Curious ... Has anyone seen any McCain bumper stickers or signs?
Edited on Sun Apr-06-08 01:47 PM by Oregonian
I live in Portland (the west coast one) and so I have not seen one bit of support for McCain. Not even a lousy bumper sticker if I happen to be driving through the neighboring suburb of Beaverton.

My bluer-than-blue area is not exactly a good gauge of sentiment, though. I'm curious what other people are seeing in their part of the country.

On edit: Some people are reporting seeing no signs at all for any candidate. I have seen plenty of Obama signs/stickers, a few for Hillary, but zero for McCain.

But according to neighbors, that guy is the only Republican on the block. Oddly, he was registered as a Democrat, though his neighbors say he's always been a Republican.

But that's not surprising. We're awash with repukes here. They all supposedly support the troops and love the war while sending their kids to college rather than to join the army.

24. Funny you should ask...
I saw my very first one yesterday here in Dallas. I live very near the old neighborhood where the Cheneys lived- on the edge of Highland Park. Lots of money, big houses, and conservatives. That is why I was so surprised- have seen quite a few Hillary and Obama stickers and signs around, but this is the first for McCain and the Republicans.

Oh, yeah- he was a bad driver to boot.

Maybe 1 McCain, 3-4 Hillary, and 3-4 Ron Paul stickers total over the last few months.

Every time I leave the house I see 5+ Obama stickers, even if it's just to go get a coffee a few blocks away. I see them on rich cars, middle class cars, hooptie cars, in the white neighborhood, in the Mexican neighborhod... he's got a broad base of support in this area.

But thats it. We mostly see Obama signs, a few Clinton ones, but barring RP no representation for the pukes :).
I am ok with the Ron Paul signs-I hope he runs as a third party candidate and pulls a bunch of rabid libertarians from the right. I heard he is considering running as a libertarian candidate.

41. The bumper stickers are out there, but you have to look for 'em. Since his campaign is strapped
for cash, the bumper stickers are made out of napkins, sugar packets and relish from McDonalds.

They cut off the "Donald's" part and just have to print four letters (CAIN) instead of six.

They're not as popular in warm states, though, where the relish and sugar tend to run in the heat.
Much like McCain is doing now.

1 Hillary yard sign

Dozens of Obama yard signs, some bumper stickers

Some creative huge homemade Paul signs a couple of months ago, in the more rural areas. There's one guy driving around town with a 2' x 4' or so sign on the top of his car (oriented like a fish fin).

47. I finally saw my first McCain bumper sticker a week ago
This contrasts with the three or four Clinton stickers I've seen and the half-dozen or more Obama's- and this is in a county that will probably vote McCain by around a 60-40 margin. I think there are more Democratic stickers because we have had the more competitive primary, and also a number of these vehicles belong to college students who are here for school but actually live in Houston.

The only signs I've seen in town that were with actual houses and not just by sidewalks or public areas were actually Ron Paul signs (!), although I have seen a good number of Obama yard signs back in my hometown.

Have some people failed to realize that we can vote again in November?

I have seen a few Obama and Hillary stickers, but none for McCain.

80. N. Cal to S. Cal - more Ron Paul bumperstickers then McCain
We took the small to Disneyland - 8 hour road trip to Southern California from Northern California (at least we were in a Prius! :) )

Saw a few Hillary stickers, but mostly the stickers were for Obama. I don't recall seeing a single McCain bumper sticker on the entire trip.
