cracker is not considered an opprobrious term in all contexts, nor is redneck.

I never really knew there was any other meaning of the term until I moved to the south.

My dad went to the odd cocktail party in Florida at the time and couldn't believe it.

10. you see it all over the place
advertisements for "cracker cooking" or "cracker furniture" or whatever.
I've been told it refers to the early settlers of the area who cracked whips to herd cattle.
