2. I said John, but I don't think for a minute...
that he will be the rethug nominee in November. November is still 4 dog years away and he is an old man. Peace, Kim

3. You people who are voting for Hillary or Barack
instead of John McCain shouldn't be on this board, IMHO.

4. I agree, if you're routing for
McCain over EITHER Hillary or Obama you aren't a real Democrat.

14. Absolutely correct...
Anybody who prefers that war mongering bastard over either Dem candidate is not a Dem - but a moral coward.

28. You know what, maybe you're right. Maybe I'm not a "real" Democrat.
Edited on Mon Apr-07-08 07:01 AM by Tesha
After all, I'm not for NAFTA.

And I'm not for enabling permanent war through inaction.

And I'm not for confirming Reich Wing Supreme Court
Justices (or Appeals Court judges either).

And I'm not for "welfare reform", or "bankruptcy
reform", or any of these other sops to the wealthy
that masquerade as "reform".

And I'm not for permanent sanctions against countries
that result in the deaths of hundreds of thousands.

And I'm not for abborgating international treaties
when it is handy or suits the needs of the Executive.

But one of these "Democrats" (or her husband and a
bunch of Bush-enablers from her faction of the party)
*IS* for all of these things. And if she were elected,
we'd all assume that all was well again and go back
to sleep while she and her ilk continued the great
tearing-down of what once made America great.

So if "Democrats", or the currently-ruling power elite
in the "Democratic" Party stands for these things, maybe
you're right. Maybe I'm not a "real" Democrat any more.

But at least McCain is 1) openly erceived as our political
enemy (rathe rthan being incorrectly viewed as "one of us"
and 2) stands four-square opposed to torture and in
support of the treaties that our country has negotiated.

10. OK...
I am hoping that anyone who didn't vote McCain is really saying "I would hate to see hillary/barack win, but because I am a rational, intelligent person I will not be driven by my hatred and do the right thing"....

13. Well said...
I was very angry after the Texas primary and felt I could never vote for her, but I have calmed down. Reason has to win over in the end. You just have to think of it this way "it's her/him or we get the mindset of 100 more years in Iraq". It's an easy call if you break it down that way.

As of this post, anyway.

Anyone who'd rather see McCain than either Hillary or Barack, is on the wrong board.

18. John McCain
But Hillary isn't far behind. Were she to win the election there is little doubt that she'd continue to be beholding to her corporate backers and thus continue to be a setback for progressive politics that's been continuous since the 80's.

27. I couldn't vote in this poll.
It's such a tough choice, I couldn't make up my mind. If it weren't for the other elections on the ballot, I wouldn't even bother to drive to the polls in November.

29. Saying you'd vote for McCain over Clinton or Obama is just childish.
Edited on Mon Apr-07-08 07:32 AM by Just-plain-Kathy
We all know a corporate dem would never hurt us as much as ANY republican. Look at Bill Clinton, we didn't realize how corporate he was until after he left office. His attack on our pocketbook was very subtle. BUT when a republican attacks our pocketbook, they’d knock us down, kick us and leave us for dead.

Voting for a democrat is the only way to go!

edit for spellling
