Kerry says he was wary of Chalabi long ago
He met Iraqi exile years back in London

Thursday, June 03, 2004
Nedra Pickler
Associated Press

Tampa, Fla. - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said Wednesday he has long had misgivings about Iraqi exile Ahmad Chalabi, now under suspicion for passing secret U.S. government information to Iran, while the Bush administration "bought into Mr. Chalabi hook, line and sinker."

On the same day Kerry told Associated Press Radio that significant gaps remain in the nation's preparations for bioterrorism, he answered several foreign policy questions during a campaign stop in the state that held the de cisive recount in the 2000 election.

He said President Bush's description of Iraq as a main front on the war on terror is "once again misleading Americans" because Iraq had nothing to do with the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

"The main front on the war on terror is in 60 countries around the world with al-Qaida and a host of other radical organizations, some of which are in countries that are our friends," he said.

1. I'll be so glad when Kerry is President
I'll be able to sleep at night without CNN on wondering if I'm going to wake up to some new horror.

2. We hope it causes him to condemn the corruption of this war.
But if he had misgivings about Chalabi. Question..Chalabi was Bush's main source of information about Iraq...why did Kerry vote for the war Don't want to paint Kerry in a box..Let him out and be free to expose Bush's corruption..But he could have helped save lives in 2002 if he had voted no.

3. How was Kerry duped then?
It was common knowledge that Chalabi was the guy supplying a lot of the intelligence before the war. If Kerry was so supicious of Chalabi, then why did he so eagerly buy in to the notion that Saddam was such a threat?

6. I knew Chalabi was a crook when he sat next to Laura.
It was common knowledge Chalabi was released for bank fraud in Jordan...Common joke...Wonder if the Secret Service, watched over Laura's pocket book at the state of the union?? Ha!
Why did not Kerry know...I did...
Bush scandals...Chalabi selling defense secrets to Iran..Cheney treasonsous over outing Mrs. Plame a CIA agent.. Have not had such corruption since Teapot Dome, yet alone Watergate...
Why, did Kerry not know..I hope he will get his dander up and finally make us proud.

4. Well, it's Clark who has been out there for months, nailing Chalabi
and how we should distance ourselves from him. I wonder what he thinks of the new "interim" government.

Kerry has had plenty of opportunities to specifically go after the setup in Iraq, esp. vis a vis Chalabi, but he never did. Clark was literally alone out there.

Even more now, we need someone with guts like Clark as VP.

5. Did Kerry say this BEFORE Chalabi was in trouble?
I hope so. That'd be much more helpful.

Joe Biden did. I watch CSPAN and the news shows a lot, and I've seen Biden in the last several months go on and on about Chalabi.

That makes two for two that Biden has called: He gave the speech on 9/10/01 (the day before "IT" happened), wherein he said the Bush admin. was going the wrong course by focusing on missile defense and that there was more threat in terrorist strikes on us abroad and at home. And now this.

Biden needs to be on the cabinet. He's clearly a very informed, intuitive, and intelligent politician.
