6. Do you think this means..........
Wesley Clark won't be JK's VP? I was hoping for a Kerry/Clark ticket for the fall.

7. This doesn't foreclose that possiblity, and there's obviously be some...
...symbolic power in elevating someone from this committee to the VP slot.

8. not really
he could still be vp. i don't see how this in any way prevents him from being vp. it's not as if it's a permanent job. he could continue doing this as vp also.

15. No, that does NOT preclude him...
...from being the Veep...not at all. In fact, it increases the likelihood of his selection. Announce the creation of a FP advisory team, then elevate a member to the ticket. As the list goes, all the former leaders are great, but Clark is the only one with political experience and parallel political abilities.

9. OT but I was just reminded
Incapsulated designed and produced the Wes Clark Democrat lapel pins which are being sold for $20 to help pay off the Wes Debt. She is now working on "John Kerry '04" lapel pins the proceeds to go to the Kerry campaign. I've seen the preliminary design and it is splendid. So watch for it. Everyone will want one of these.

Pretty good :D

14. Hey - It's General Shali
I always liked him. He was Supreme Allied Commander Europe before becoming JCS.

Very intelligent and humble man. Nice to see him on the Kerry team along with Clark.

16. Not only that, I believe he was Clark's mentor as well,
(if "mentor" is the right word), getting Clark in as SouthCom CinC and then SACEUR.

18. I don't think there's any way in hell Kerry would do that to
Wes--but I have to admit I held my breath when I saw there were two ex-JCS on the list, until I saw that neither was Shelton.

others who think we need to go repuke to get good military minds....We have plenty good people - I can even think of a few good men who didn't even make this list.

in Bucharest.......(this is the full press release, thanks to RobbedVoter)

Wesley Clark states NATO accession brings us billions of dollars
Bucharest, June 03, 2004 - Romania's accession to NATO will bring "billions and billions of dollars " out of foreign investment inflows, will assure education for thousands of people and tens of thousand jobs, real change in economy, military system and culture, states general Wesley Clark, former commander of NATO troops in Europe.

Clark stated on Thursday in a press conference that western business people will make investments in Romania not only because they know now their investments are protected, due to the condition as NATO member country, but also because they will get involved in changing Romanian society, so that it can be compatible with the western civilization.

If I hear one more pundit say he was a dud on the stump, I'm gonna scratch their eyes out!
Wes is simply fantastic.
He's honest, intelligent, worldly, self-made, individualistic and handsome - he is everything that SHOULD represent the BEST of what America stands for.
Unlike that idiot-in-chief we've got over in Europe now. :puke:

Owwee, Wowee! Thinking hurts!

26. Stansfield Turner is an idiot!
He was widely despised in the Navy, & the ineffectiveness of the CIA can be traced back to his tenure.

He was not the only idiot to run the CIA, but he oversaw many of the cuts that hindered the Agency later on.

I think Kerry should distance himself from Turner.
