Terry McAuliffe jumps ship for Obama?!

wow...what a REALLY bad weekend for the clintons

Was Terry McAuliffe, chairman of Sen. Hillary Clinton presidential campaign, engaging in his own sort of hedging strategy at a recent meeting of Washington State Democrats? Or was the former Democratic National Committee chair engaging in a kumbayah, all-us-Democrats-are-in-this-together moment?

McAuliffe attended the regional caucuses of the Washington State Democrats over the weekend and graciously posed with some grass-roots Democrats.

What's really interesting, as you can see from these photos, is that McAuliffe posed with supporters of Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign and that a beaming McAuliffe helped them hold up their large Obama signs for the camera. McAuliffe is wearing his Clinton button but it's dwarfed by the Obama sign he's holding.

We don't want to read too much into these photos. But it's definitely striking to see the chairman of the Clinton campaign smiling broadly into the camera while holding up a campaign poster for Obama with whom Clinton is currently engaged in a fight to the death.

3. Terry, perhaps acting as a role model for Clinton supporters?
Be nice and friendly with the folks who will eventually WIN the nomination for Obama, we will need almost all Clinton supporters to win in November with Obama. So let's be nice to them starting now.

11. While I don't mind Terry holding a sign, I sure as hell hope Obama
doesn't let him anywhere near his campaign. I'm sorry T. Mac just comes off as sleazy and power hungry to me. The funny thing is, he'll probably be thrown under the bus, just for being within spitting distance of an Obama '08 sign...

Bill Clinton campaigns and win. But let's forget about all that - let's also forget that you're going to need the Hillary Clinton supporters to win in November - or do you really think ignoring 45-48% of democrats is the way to win?

RAW STORY
Published: Monday April 7, 2008

Terry McAuliffe, former chairman of the Democratic National Committee and now-chairman of Senator Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, has been mysteriously caught in three photographs smiling and holding an Obama for president sign with supporters in Washington state.

The photos were acquired by the Chicago Tribune's Swamp blog.

"What's really interesting, as you can see from these photos, is that McAuliffe posed with supporters of Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign and that a beaming McAuliffe helped them hold up their large Obama signs for the camera," Swamp author Frank James wrote Monday morning. "McAuliffe is wearing his Clinton button but it's dwarfed by the Obama sign he's holding.

"We don't want to read too much into these photos," he added. "But it's definitely striking to see the chairman of the Clinton campaign smiling broadly into the camera while holding up a campaign poster for Obama with whom Clinton is currently engaged in a fight to the death."
