Thank Bob Barr for making President Obama?
Bob Barr 2008

Antiwar.com: The Barr Factor
Antiwar libertarian Republican continues the Ron Paul Revolution>

The pollsters are now telling us John McCain could pull it off, with match-ups pitting him against both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton showing the War Party's favorite son neck-and-neck with the Dems. Aside from the nearly complete meaninglessness of such data at this time, what these polls fail to take into account is one factor likely to have a large – and possibly decisive – impact on the presidential race: I'm talking about the Barr Factor.

Huffington Post: Libertarian Bob Barr Jumps Into Presidential Race

Libertarians looking to have a higher-profile candidate than they did in 2004 are rejoicing this week-end as former Congressman Bob Barr announced that he is forming a presidential explanatory committee. He made this announcement at a Libertarian conference in Kansas City, Missouri; it will take a few more weeks, naturally, for any formal declaration of candidacy, and then to see what Barr's chances are to get the Libertarian line on the ballot.

GObama!
Go Dean's 50 State Strategy
Go Grassroots

1. I don't know.
It seems to me that they will then be able to blow off Obama's victory as being without mandate, because the only reason he won was because of Barr. I'd rather see him win without any question of a mandate.

2. What is his position on immigration?
If he is a hard liner, he could be a problem for McCain.

3. I think he actually agreed with McCain on the immigration bill
which is why the Limbaugh conservatives aren't crazy about him either.

but he supported the immigration bill, so he's not exactly like Tancredo anymore.

7. I'm not sure Barr will be as strong as, say Nader was in 2000 but anything that hurts McCain
with the right is okay with me.
