Democrats have the perfect primary system until you add in superdelegates.. |
|
The media has pushed hard to make Iowa and NH defacto winner take all states but it didn't work this time. I want to see the canidates meet the voters in every state. I think however superdelegates should have to go with the will of the voters in their home state even if the superdelegates aren't proportionally representative of the counry.

1. I respectfully disagree |

- Iowa and New Hampshire should no longer be the first states to vote. Every election cycle, a new state or two should get the right to go first.
- Puerto Rico should not get 60+ delegates or however many they are allocated. Nothing against Puerto Rico, I'm just uncomfortable having, well, a non-state play such a potentially huge role in deciding the nominee.
- They should just get rid of superdelegates completely. No need for them.

3. I agree with all your points with one modification. |

I don't think the primaries should lead off with just one or two states. The primaries should be held in larger "clumps", maybe regions or maybe 5 or 6 states from a single region and rotate it every cycle. The SDs are just a bad idea on many levels.

2. Mort Zuckerman loves Superdelegates |

That's enough to make me dislike the concept.
The primary season is too long.
