Obama's VP: Knows a "bunch of stuff"
Edited on Mon Apr-07-08 12:43 PM by Beacool

by Mark Silva

When, and if, it comes time to look for a running mate, Barack Obama will be looking for "somebody who knows about a bunch of stuff that I'm not an expert on".

This was the senator's word at a closed-door fundraiser last night in San Francisco, the Huffington Post reports. Obama fielded a question on what he's looking for in a running mate, HuffPo's Mayhill Flower writes.

"I would like somebody who knows about a bunch of stuff that I'm not as expert on," the senator is quoted as saying. "I think a lot of people assume that might be some sort of military thing to make me look more commander-in-chief-like. Ironically, this is an area--foreign policy is the area where I am probably most confident that I know more and understand the world better than Sen. Clinton or Sen. McCain.

Right about now, Hillary and McCain are probably laughing their butts off.

38. We have a winner! Hillary didn't read the NIE and instead asked Condi for advice.
Then included the 'Al Qaeda has connections to Iraq' lie in her IWR speech... and was STILL parrotting White House LIES about Iraq even 10 months after the war started!

7. Hmm, that's interesting. It kinda signals that he won't be signing up
a military type for his VP choice. Makes me think he's aiming at domestic policy and looking for a governor who is popular and can bring in a state in a traditionally Republican region, a Janet Napolitano or a Kathleen Sebelius, for example...

His folksiness masked the fact that he was a proponent of war and a slew of other shitty policies.

Now we have a candidate who can be folksy and right on the issues.

The Huff article called Obama "cocky", he sure is that and much more!!

His assumption that he knows more about foreign policy because he lived abroad as a small child and has family in Africa is truly laughable.

Heck, I was raised abroad in boarding schools for most of my growing years. I have family in Europe and Latin America and travel overseas on a regular basis. Does any of that make me an expert on foreign policy????

Please..........

I realize she has experience working for Wal-Mart and lying about her support for NAFTA, but I really can't tell if she has any actual foreign policy experience aside from the things that happened in her own mind.

Does voting for the Iraq War because she lacked the political will and spine to oppose it count as f.p. experience? I guess it could.

70. Win or lose, it's money well spent.
I don't regret a minute of my time, nor a penny of my money that went to help her campaign.

On the other hand, the DNC won't get another penny, neither will I campaign for the GE (except at the local and state level). I may help Lautenberg's campaign, he's up for reelection.

Experience mimicking republicans.

That's experience we can do without.
