Penn Out, Then In (He hasn't gone away, folks)
http://marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/04/penn_out_then_in.php

Demoted Hillary Clinton strategist Mark Penn may no longer have the coveted title of chief strategist, but he remains a key member of the campaign's senior staff.

Mr. Penn took part on the campaign's morning message call this morning, as usual.

This afternoon, he is also scheduled to be on a call with Clinton and other aides to begin to prepare for Saturday's presidential debate in Philadelphia.

Mr. Penn "is still going to be very much involved," a senior campaign official said.

Indeed, it is not clear precisely what Mr. Penn's title-change entails, other than a public rebuke, although the official said that "there is a difference between being in charge and being one of many voices.

2. Maybe the campaign asked him to take a cut in pay?
Less pay / less participation?

Or just trying to give the SOB a lower profile, what with Blackwater being in a lot of news stories of late? Maybe campaign is just trying to cut back on perceived liabilities. Trying to block any chance of guilt by association with Penn's rather obnoxious other clients?

3. it is not clear precisely what Mr. Penn's title-change entails
It entails an attempt to continue conning the voters (especially in economically depressed Pennsylvania) that Clinton really is against free trade agreements, when the facts are plain that she and Bill have long been vocal proponents of them.

Penn's actions in Columbia threatened to tear off the very thin layer of lies that she isnt a free trader, cant have that.

Expect the only change to be no more Penn hosting the desperate daily Clinton campaign conference calls with reporters .

4. Kick.
Gotta maintain awareness of Blackwater Penn's non-firing.

If we can get enough buzz on this story, maybe the MSM will pick it up, and if that happens, we can watch Hillary's poll numbers drop another ten points as people in general realize Hillary lied to them, again.

6. This good...now folks can keep calling for him to be ejected.
Seems like the Clinton campaign approach to management is to just rearrange the seating around the table.

9. There's a pattern here, folks.. HRH has a habit of hanging onto men who
have "done her wrong".. She's a pretty bad judge of character.. ...and even when she FINDS out what they have done behind her back, she still clings to them because of what she thinks they can DO for her...

She sounds afraid to stand-alone..
