I like what Carville just said to Novak, "Help is on the way."
Carville means in November, when John Kerry is elected President of the United States, and Dubya is sent back to Crawford to clear brush, what he does best.

A great slogan which bears repeating.

16. Cute Carville quote
2000 Election
"Back in 2000 a Republican friend warned me that if I
voted for Al Gore and he won, the stock market would
tank, we'd lose millions of jobs, and our military
would be totally overstretched. You know what? I did
vote for Gore, he did win, and I'll be damned if all
those things didn't come true!"
James Carville }(

4. What, he didn't just yell
"You'd like to have Saddam back in power in Iraq, wouldn't you???!"

That's been his usual attack on every liberal guest all week. He can't say anything else, so he results to that lame line.

5. He said to James,
"What you woke up this morning and made that list? Good for you." James said.....which word do you think describes the chimp? (it was a derogatory word list) (chimp is my word) and the guy wouldn't answer. Finally, James says, "Ladies and gentlemen, you want to know who said these words that describe the chimp? Republican General Zinni! that's who said these words." The guy was silenced. He couldn't say anything because Zinni is a repub. It really was SWEEEEEEEET!

6. There was no good response to what Zinni has said. They are screwed!
Zinni is a longtime Repubican who is disgusted with the performance of the Pentagon under Rummy. Too bad he doesn't put the blame where it belongs, at the top with Dubya.

13. Dereliction, negligence, irresponsibility, lying, incompetent, corruption.
http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0406/04/cf.01.html

The complete exchange:

CARVILLE: Dereliction, negligence, irresponsibility, lying, incompetent, corruption. Which one of those would you say are over the line?

BLACK: You stayed up all night and that's all you could come up with?

(LAUGHTER)

BLACK: Give me the example of the corruption you're talking about.

(CROSSTALK)

CARVILLE: Which one of those -- which one of these words. Calling this administration derelict in their duty, is that over the top?

BLACK: What about strong leader and sticks to his principles? That's what the voters think describes President Bush.

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)

CARVILLE: Tell me, is dereliction over the top? Is dereliction over the top?

BLACK: What are you talking about?

CARVILLE: Is negligence over the top? Is irresponsibility over the top? Is lying over the top

(CROSSTALK)

BLACK: We know you're over the top. We know you're over the top.

(CROSSTALK)

BLACK: What are you talking about?

(CROSSTALK)

CARVILLE: Who said this, ladies and gentlemen of America, was General Anthony Zinni, a four-star general of the United States Marine Corps. This is not coming from partisan Democrats. This is the opinion of professional people, what this administration has done.

(CROSSTALK)

CARVILLE: These are the words that were used.

(APPLAUSE)

15. Carville is hardly ever on Crossfire. He'd be the one to . . .
ask that ugly old bastard/traitor/asshole/criminal/etc., why aren't you in jail for your role in the CIA leak? In fact, why does CNN (canned news network) keep you on their tab??

P.S. What was up with Novak's right eye?

17. Carville on Iraq
Iraq
"If you can't say the simple fact that they lied to get
us in and have no idea how to get us out, then there's
something wrong with America."

"In '44, Franklin Delano Roosevelt had a 700-page plan
for the occupation of Japan. That's what happens when
you think ahead. What was the plan this time? Who read
the important documents? Let's have an investigation.
If we can spend $70 million to investigate the act of
consensual sex, we can spend a few million to find out
why we are involved in a war in Iraq."

21. "James is on fire lately."
James is always on fire. I love that guy.

"When your opponent is drowning, throw the son of a bitch
an anvil." James Carville

"Republicans love to talk about the right and wrong. They do so with an absolutely religious fevor-and that makes sense because more than a small number of them use their religion as a justification for their policies. If they're going to do that, it's fair for us to ask questions like "Is cutting funds for the schools that educate the kids of the people fighting for us in Iraq a bad, stupid right-wing policy, or is it an affront to God?" "Is rolling back clean water protections so your rich contributors can blight the environment bad policy, or is it a sin for which you can burn in hell?" James Carville

"I taught school for a little while, and guess what? There is such a thing as a stupid question. The same goes for opinions. Not everyone has a valid point. The next time a right-wing nut tells you that the Bush plan gives the poor a lot of incentive to get rich don't say, 'Well, you've got a point." They don't have a point. What they are saying is stupid. Sometimes a mind is like a mouth; you just have to shut it." James Carville

22. Oh man!
Edited on Sun Jun-06-04 03:14 PM by in_cog_ni_to
I love that first quote! I think I'll make that my new "favorite" quote.

The reason I said James has been on fire "lately" is because during the primary he was not so kind to my Wes Clark. He was blatantly biased toward Kerry and it really ticked me off. In fact, one day, Tucker the f***** was ripping Wes Clark to bits and BOTH Carville and Begala just sat there and didn't argue ANY point in Clark's favor. They just let him rant about how awful Wes was with no defense of him. :grr: Man that ticked me off. I'm holding a slight grudge. :7

on edit...Welcome to DU! :hi:

23. Carville dissed Clark?
I didn't know that. I thought Begala, at least, was advising Clark. Stephanopoulos ripped him up over the Dean VP thing. I'm totally not speaking to Stephanopoulos now! But I didn't know that Carville and Begala were lukewarm on Clark. HMMMMMM.

I'll have to have a word with him. (joking)

26. Any second now, I'm sure
I wish he would hurry up too. But things are changing so fast, I think he has adopted a "wait and see" attitude.

Hopefully he will come out swinging when he chooses a VP.

And hopefully it will be Clark!
