Breaking: Clinton picks up another superdelegate
Edited on Mon Apr-07-08 09:02 PM by OzarkDem
No doubt Obama supporters will spin this in a negative way, but she is gaining support.

Obama is NOT inevitable.

87. Did anyone actually expect any of the Ark SDs to suport Obama? Really?
text from the linked article:

Presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton has picked up another
uperdelegate in Arkansas who said he'll support the state's former
first lady.

Land Commissioner Mark Wilcox, who was selected last month as the
Arkansas Democratic Party's last remaining superdelegate to the
national convention, said Monday he's supporting the New York
senator.

Wilcox says the only way he'd change his mind is if Clinton
drops out of the race before the convention this summer.

Wilcox's support gives Clinton 11 of the state's 12 superdelegates,
members of Congress and other party leaders who are not selected
in primaries and caucuses. The superdelegates supporting Clinton
include Governor Beebe and Senators Mark Pryor and Blanche Lincoln.

52. Oh wait... it doesn't.
Ironic that the Clinton supporters are now the ones screaming "Not inevitable!" when they had exactly the opposite approach for a year, demanding that everybody kneel down and accept the candidate.

Then the voters weighed in. :)

84. That is a loss of a clear endorsement, not a pledged delegate
Just to be accurate, Clinton did not lose a listed SD vote:

"A D.C. Council member and UNPLEDGED Democratic delegate".

Certainly not positive news for Hillary, but this is about as unexpected to have a DC backer back off from her to nuetral as it is for an Arkansas SD to endorse her. Given the where they each reside and the politics at play in their home communities.

No way that he will ever carry Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Miss. Alabama, Georgia,North and South Carolina.....and of course Texas.....but what about Ohio and Florida? At the moment obama would lose both states to mccain....on the other hand HRC would carry both Ohio and Florida, and all those red dumfuckistan states obama believes he can win, hrc would not even campaign there, for the simple damn reason, NO DEMOCRAT WILL CARRY THOSE STATES...So when HRC wins the nomination and begins her campaign, she will take those new england states that kerry and gore won and then proceed to new york, new jersey, pa. rhode island, deleware, and then over to west virginia(another state obama cannot carry) and then into Ohio and into Illinois and then come south to florida, and into Tenn, and over to arkansas, and then to New Mexico and then to Nevada and then to California and oregon and washington state. Even if she loses tenn and ark, she is still the president because she willl have won Flordia and ohio...even if she lost ohio and won florida she is still president, and if she won ohio and loses florida she still is president.....obama on the other hand will be like this if he is the nominee....oh about 8 23 pm on november 4th cnn, fox, msnbc will flash they have a projection for Pa. and then drum roll please and all will say they are projecting Pa. to go for McCain....Folks you can turn your tv off and the tivo and go to bed the republicans keep the white house.....and the reason.....

the dems decided to go with the one trick pony and not the seasoned candidate. IF Obama is unelectable because of Wright, should we just eat that and lose again? That is what you obama folks would have us do if hrc is not the nominee. How can you ask hrc supporters to support a man that for 20 years sat in a church where the pastor preached anti white, anti jew and anti israel sermons and expect us to forgive and forget....I guess I am not that big a person.....

83. Really
Lets just deal with the first state you mention, Montana. It has a Democrat Governor and 2 Democrat Senators but you are sure it cannot be won in the GE. Your logic starts at ground level and goes below sea level.

The plain fact is that Senator Clinton is disliked.

In three months Clinton has gained 3 points and Obama has gained 14. Her high negatives guaranteed that she would have a low ceiling from the begining.

80. if that's present tense, shouldn't it be "a single delegate," not "another delegate"?
it's not like it's a trend.

88. Congratulations to Senator Clinton.
She does have many admirers. Sometimes when I look on GD-P it is easy to forget that she has millions of supporters. I am really proud of her. She is a fighter.
