gore vidal october surprise, bush's resignation
on the Majority Report

He also mentioned all the physical things that we all
have noticed. Shaky voice, and the rest... and he
has noticed how terrified the Resident is

4. Wishful thinking on his part I bet...
I don't see Bush and Cheney stepping down voluntarily. It will take impeachment to get them out or voting out in November.

6. His logic made sense
and it was the same logic that brought the GOP to
ahem demand Nixon's resignation. Then again back
in '74 the GOP still had some love of country and
honor.

12. That is what I mean...
this current group of Republicans have no idea how much trouble they are in. They live in a bubble of power and political favor.

5. KEVLAR? He is NOT paranoid
and the Secret Service is making sure he is well
protected. I mean you did catch the story on the
Australian Press on threats to the President and other
heads of state.

For the record, they must do this for every president.
This is their job, and I trust they do it well.

Then again the article on the Capitol Hill Blues today was...
incredible.

Enemies lists, paranoia, white house under siege... just like
when Tricky Dick was around. Granted, this is far worst
than Watergate (as John Dean and others have pointed out).

So I hope this helps.

9. CIA Agent outed.
Seems that this is the only situation that could derail the Neo Fascist train. Perhaps that is what is behind the CIA Chief and Deputy firings; an attempt to nueter the CIA. BushCo wants badly to pin the blame of 911 and bogus Iraq intell on the CIA. So far, the ploy seems to be working with aid from the compliant Media.

10. Bush resignation=Political ammo for Kerry
Edited on Fri Jun-04-04 08:39 PM by ih8thegop
Kerry would go on about how Bush/Cheney have made the government unstable, a la Nixon and Watergate.

11. Vidal must be on crack
which saddens me. I saw him on Bill Maher a couple months ago and cherished every word, but my husband thought he was a bit out there. My kinda guy!

Scum in chief will never resign.

13. That's exactly what I'm worried about.
Anything that takes Bush out of the equation in November.

I don't want Republicans to feel their honor has been restored, not for a second.

I don't want them to feel the system worked.

I want them bone worried. So worried that they elect a different Congress.

These folks MUST have an immunity plan of some sort.

17. I'm sure they've printed up all the pardons and they're just waiting to be
signed and dated just before Bush goes.

18. It'll never happen. The "firm leader" doesn't resign.
And he also doesn't fire staffers who are incompetent. As long as the $$ keeps rolling in, he'll keep running and running.

19. From the first few months I thought this smash and grab admin might bow
out after one term. Who wants to be president when the whole house of cards comes toubling down because of the pillaging you've done to the public purse?

I first supsected it when they started talking about how Bush hates DC, loves TX, and loves baseball. I thought they're setting it up so that he can leave.

Also, I think the media has been allowed by the WH to go nuts right now. There are a couple explanations. But one is to build up a mood in which it would be plausible for Bush to drop out.

Say that the media where felating him the way they've done for the last 3.5 years -- would that be a reasonable political landscape in which Bush could drop out? Doubt it. This way he can act like the victim who had to resign because of all this unfair criticism.
