BREAKING: AOL is an internet poll who's base is older people still on dialup
I understand that there isn't much going for Hillary these days but citing polls from AOL? Come on. Please post credible sources, not internet based polls targeting specific generations.

9. You mean Hillary really didn't win IL?
AOL says she won... plus those stupid 'news' sites take too long to load on dialup so I don't trust them. If I have to leave AOL everything is a security threat, haven't you heard of terrorist hackers! I'm too scared for real internets, too many chinese terrorists stealing my identity.

11. Now now. It's also rural folks.
They don't have the new-fangled DSL back in the woods, let alone cable or FIOS. ISDN's the best they can (resonably) get, short of a fairly spendy T-1 (or frac T-1).

13. Hey--
'base is older people still on dial up'? Oh s--t, that is ME. Wondered why the AOL polls were so screwy. But this older person on dial up is for Obama. So I will try to keep moving the dial just a smidgen in Obama's direction in these poles.

16. Hey, how do I know when I am older?
I have always been on dialup, but my only choices for something faster are either with the phone company or the cable company--not much of a choice. I have dialup, but it's just a number that connects me with the internet and that's all.

its when you start to forget that the phone company is actually the company you get your dial up from.

17. that's odd
I always thought of AOL being full of under thirty brats. For many years the demographics were skewed to the conservative side, too. And most AOL-ers are not on dialup. It's too expensive that way. $35 for dialup compared to $14 for DSL AOL.

33. i think the point IS...
WE are the ones who DO vote.

that may be one of the few instances where we are "regular", but we ARE regular voters.

every election.

we don't get tempted to not vote because we have a social life, and something comes up and we don't make it to the polls, or anything like that.

face it.

despite the disdain of everyone under 50 (give or take a few), we aren't dead yet, and won't be for a long time, so you are going to have to deal with us.

whether we vote for obama OR hillary, we still pack a punch.

you young whippersnapper....

:spank:

1. I am over 60 and retired.

2. I access the net using dialup.

3. I wholeheartedly support Mr. Obama.

21. You should have busted on the AOL polls without the ageist putdown.
AOL polls suck enough as is. No need to put down an entire group of voters that we'll need later on.

Clinton based BBs.

Voting in the AOL polls was a prominent feature of the discussion with lots of updates and vigorous appeals for action.
