SUSA: Exclusive Poll: Obama Loses Popularity With Pa. Men (HRC 18pts over BHO)
SUSA: Exclusive Poll: Obama Loses Popularity With Pa. Men (HRC 18pts over BHO)

"Barack Obama lost ground among certain groups of voters in the battleground state of Pennsylvania during the last week, according to a new poll.

If the Democratic Primary were held in Pennsylvania Tuesday, Hillary Clinton would beat Obama by 18 percentage points, according to the results of a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for NBC 10 and three other TV stations across the Keystone State.

The poll concluded that the results were nearly identical to one of its polls released a month ago, stalling the momentum Obama picked up at the end of March.

Women and white voters barely budged and continued to support Clinton at more than 60 percent, as they have in the previous two Survey USA polls.

However, a change in men's support has negatively affected Obama.

Last week, Obama moved within 12 percentage points of Clinton, but men who flirted with the notion of voting for Obama at the end of March appear to be moving their support back to Clinton.

The poll suggests that men make up 42 percent of likely voters."

24. Yeah, let's ALL post it!
Having said that, I fully expect it to be posted under different headlines at least twice more today.

Then certain DUers will post it tomorrow, and then certain other DUers will post it the day after that...

And so on.

14. As an Obama supporter, this worries me
The other 2 polls look better but SUSA has been the most accurate this year, although my boss (who knows a lot about polling) says that their methodology is suspect and that they are not well-respected by other pollsters. But they have been accurate, so I am worried.

Girl who knocks down more pins than Barack Obama offers bowling tips
BY STEPHANIE GASKELL and MICHAEL McAULIFF
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITERS

Wednesday, April 2nd 2008

...."It's pretty easy," she crowed as she and her 48-year-old stay-at-home mom, Hilda Lamas, bowled at 300 New York at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan yesterday.

Like Obama, Gabriella got a few gutter balls, but she kept trying and eventually bested the 46-year-old presidential hopeful by 10 points.

Her biggest tip for Obama to improve his score the next time he heads to the lanes: "You have to look at the pins when you throw it."

21. SUSA has been the most accurate all year
by far, and fear that despite all of his efforts and spending, hasn't made any headway in the keystone state. If Obama can finish within 15-20 points, he should thank his lucky stars, and move onto the next state.

30. If obama believed any of what he is saying then why did he ever
allow the racial divisiness his campaign launched against Hillary and Bill Clinton? Why did obama fire Jesse Jr. when he used the rcial card against Hillary? The fact is that obama can give a good speech, but that is all he has done. He doesn't live up to his own words. They are empty bullshit.....

33. The media can string together different poll results from different firms and
say her lead is shrinking, but she's going to win PA and she's going to win by double digits.

34. Damn, this really screwed up the Intrade price
I was becoming giddy with anticipation of another theft. Intrade had moved steadily down the past few days, to below 70/30 in favor of Hillary in PA.

Today the latest trades are up nearly 5% in Hillary's favor, and this poll is undoubtedly the reasoning.

I always put more faith in SurveyUSA and Mason-Dixon than other companies, in terms of statewide polls. M-D may be having an off primary season but primaries are difficult to poll, by definition. I've studied polling since '96 and M-D is generally excellent.

Face it, if PA were stuck along with many other states in a Super Tuesday or mini-Super Tuesday scenario, the demographic realities would make it a second-tier opportunity for Obama. It's receiving more hype than warranted as a potential reversal, only due to the isolated spot on the calendar.
