Do any Obama supporters get tired from the fauxrage from Clinton supporters.. |
|
They post one after the other:
"Why do Obama supporter think it's cool to call Hillary a bitch" (I've never heard an Obama supporter use that word in reference to Hillary.. In fact I do hear it occasionally from Clinton supporters on DU) "Why are Obama supporters so vicious in here" "Obama supporters stop the hatred" "Obama supporters your ruining the party" "Obama supporters have ruined DU" "I was going to support Obama but his supporters on DU are horrible" "Which Obama supporters are going to apologize for their blatant sexism" "Because of Obama supporters on DU I am going to vote for McCain in the GE or stay home"
These fauxrage posts are constantly barraged upon GDP.. yet I rarely find any posts or comments that match up to what they claim. What I do see at least once a day an "Obama Cult" thread... yesterday we had that wonderful "Obama connection to terrorists" thread... and the always loved "Someone who endorsed Obama did this/Obama once met someone a few years ago who did this" I think the hatred in DU is pretty even. This shows that it isn't biased against Clinton but actually against Obama... poll after poll here shows Obama supporters outnumber Clinton supporters 9-1 on DU... yet they make half the splash... It is starting to urk me.

coterie of Obama "supporters" who dash from thread to thread lecturing the rest of us on how we've got to treat the HRC boosters with genteel deference no matter how vicious they get that piss me off.
"I'm not a Hillary supporter" they squawk, "but you're out of line." Or "this isn't helpful." Yada yada yada yada. They always seem to *miss* the nasty rhetoric from the HRC boosters, but focus in like a laser on the slightest little impolitic thing an Obama supporter says.

So, am I to take it that simply the fact someone chooses to support Obama, even if they don't post here, is enough for you to be sickened by them?
Since the comment was painted with such a broad and all-inclusive brush I just have to ask you, Is it simply the fact that Obama is black that causes you to automatically dislike ANYONE that supports him? I think it's a fair question given the scope of your comment.

24. "fauxrage"? Because HRC supporters believe in their candidate? No. |
|
Supporters of Hillary Clinton honestly want her to be President. And they have to be disheartened by the fact that her supposed walk to the nomination has been stopped in its tracks.
I remember how hurt and angry and dissapointed I was when Dean failed in his bid for the nomination, and how pissed and then heartbroken I was when Gore's presidency was stolen by SCOTUS.
They hurt. They grieve, They are angry. And they are working through the entire gamut of emotions in their posts on DU. They are entitled, and they should be allowed to express their feelings without those of us who don't agree attacking them for it.
The ignore feature is a wonderful tool if anyone truly wishes to not have to wade through the diatribes of the more angry and/or disruptive HRC supporters posts. But disagree or not, it's a contest, and there will only be one nominee... losing sucks, and it hurts.
Been there, done that. Empathy abounds.

"how dare you" - the ones that call out a poster under the guise of "aren't we better than this to use freeper tactics" the flock of hillgulls swarm in as if someone dumped their french fries or an bucket of minnows on the shore. The pick the topic or the poster apart, make like they are better than all the rest, then they fly off to perch on their poles until one of them has some slam to post, some smear of Obama or mockery of someone that might be close to him. Then they dive in again, picking folks apart, tearing wildly until satisfied or until there is nothing left to pick.
Then after all of that, one of them will post the "let's post fun shit" and all will come in and say "great thread" "recommend" "we need more fun" yadayaydyaydyaydyaydya - and their odd little passive/agressive circle jerks continue.
Meanwhile, the primary goes on ....
they need to put more effort into fund raising for their candidate, there are folks that need to get paid.

I really did feel picked apart. I did some looking around afterward and I believe they are seeking revenge for a tombstoned Hillary supporter as much as trying to keep a handle on the Hillary situation itself. I don't think they should take it out on every single person who is going to vote for Obama. It must be emotionally draining to keep this up so much, maybe the 'fun' topics are to keep themselves sane?

faux rage from faux Dems
When I got here my senses were assaulted with the most lurid, sleazy, incendiary, rovian smears I'd ever seen anywhere... many outright racist imho.
I listed them and made a top post of them... stating that a new person (and although I didn't say it at the time, an African American person) coming in, would think they found the wrong site and possibly never come back.
of course I got followed around after that, stalked... and any little thing that I said that was outside of DU guidelines got reported until I was writing with disappearing ink.
I learned.
I learned the rules and I learned that the Clintonistas (not Clinton supporters) are Republican Thugs.

from so many angles on this board that it makes me dizzy--and their rationales for this line of thought are even weirder.

60. I'm tired of ALL the faux outrage, from both sides |
|
even though I've been a bit snippy myself sometimes. But not fauxoutraged. Never that! ;-)
Meanwhile, I just put up a post wondering where your next V.P. poll is...

69. sadly, it will only get worse.... |
|
...the longer the nomination battle continues on.
It's lunacy. As the "math" gets more improbable, the need for an Obama gaffe or "incident" has become more urgent.

76. Yeah, I'm not going to accuse... |
|
...one side over the other, and I'm for Obama. Any faux outrage just doesn't sit right with me and I don't care where it comes from or for what reasons. I appreciate it when people are real, y'know? I try not to involve myself in any of that stuff. In fact I feel a bit odd commenting here but my answer is what it is... faux outrage looks good on no-one, plain and simple.

74. You mean like over threads like this? "Hillary's Speeches: Pure Out-And-Out Horseshit" |
|
I am sure that Hillary's supporters think that DU posters show fine judgment and manners when they rate up a thread that has a title like this.
If Hillary was really the dirty trickster that people claim she is, Obama's name would be mud. That is what the RNC is hoping to see. They don't want McCain to have to do it. They want Hillary to do it for them. There is so much dirt--- the way he lied about not taking money from lobbyists and corps when he really does and the way that he has people associated with special interests working in his campaign, his ties to nuclear energy and how that lead him to vote for Cheney's energy bill that Hillary voted against, Axelrod's ties to AT&T and his other ties to Verizon---the two telecoms that now want immunity for spying (will his DOJ prosecute or give them immunity?). And all the dirty tricks, "Sen, Clinton (D. Punjab)", "The Race Memo" with its three debunked lies both of which his campaign tried to give to reporters on a "you didn't get this from us" basis (who knows how many memos that has worked with?), Obama's public attacks on Hillary for planting dirty information against him with right wingers like Bob Novak and Drudge that everyone could tell were lying but Obama went out of his way to slander Hillary just to score some points, his campaign's attempts to interject race before South Carolina to make up for New Hampshire and Nevada, caucus dirty tricks in Texas like Obama supporters signing other people in at the caucuses and filling out caucus forms in advance as well as his constant barrage of "Hillary is no different from a Republican like John McCain on the war"---so much for not handicapping a fellow Dem in case she is the nominee. And his lie about never doing a favor for Rezko and his lie about not having a pharmaceutical lobbyist on his campaign staff and his lie about never hearing Wright say anything controversial. The Harry and Louise ads and the ads he is running now in which he lies and says he is getting no oil money when he is getting lots of money from oil industry employees (companies can not give money by federal law, all the case comes from employees, does he think we were born yesterday?).
Obama should have been vetted months ago. This tally is getting too damn long. He is going to go into the general with no one knowing anything about him and a closet filled with skeletons and dirt for every NYT and WaPo writer to dug up. If just one of these stories breaks a week that is three solid months of bad press.
Everyone went soft on him, because he was young, new, nice. Lee Atwater said the best kind of opponent was one that was undefined, because he could determine what the public would see him. Read my journal about the Right Wing Media vs. Obama to find out how the other half of the country already sees him then imagine what will happen when the story dump happens.
A few Hillary supporters want a woman to win. A few Obama supporters want a Black to win. But most Hillary supporters are people who want desperately for a Dem to win this fall and they are afraid that Obama can not do it.

75. Clinton can't win because she uses Rethug framing |
|
Every time she does that, it's the exact equivalent of saying that Rethugs are right and Dems are wrong. So does Obama, sometimes. For instance going after her from the right on Social Security. However, Obama has done some major frameshifting that will be a real help in countering Rethug BS.
