Is it sexist to attack Hillary Clinton for Bill Clinton's current policy opinions?
ala - Bill Clinton: "I am in favor of the (Colombian) free trade agreement "

Does this imply that Hillary Clinton cannot have an opinion of her own or that her husband's opinion will override hers?

1. They appear to be a package deal.
Clinton is of course free to throw her husband under the bus any time she chooses, but until she does so, and given their intimate association, I have to consider his policy positions and her policy positions interchangeable.

2. How ridiculous. How about John and Elizabeth Edwards on Gay Marriage?
Edited on Tue Apr-08-08 04:09 PM by jsamuel
Are you saying that Elizabeth was lying because John had a different opinion?

I said you have to consider the Clintons as a package deal as that is the way they have presented themselves since 92. If Bill says "Colombia FTA Good" and Hillary says "Colombia FTA Bad" then it is up to them to explain just what their position is, or as I said it is up to Hillary Clinton to throw Bill under the bus, at least on this issue.

4. Is it sexist to attack Obama for his pastor's opinions?
When somebody is close to another person like that, their opinions are taken to be the same or similar unless they are explicitly denounced.

13. More to the point though, Bill was not necessarily talking about the same deal
But NAFTA is part of her "experience", so there is some question whether she can be trusted on trade.

11. When her chief strategist and chief surrogate are pro-Colombian Free Trade
her stance appears disingenuous. If you don't want to look like a Union-Buster, avoid those who promote it.
