4. I think it would work better for 2008
after 4 years of Edwards being attourney general and instituting his justice department reforms (see his issues page).

Also electorally. In 04, our truely realistic southern states that we could win are FL, AR, and LA. By 08, GA, NC, VA, and TN would probably be more competative for dems (w/ a successful administration) because of the job growth, bussiness boom in the NC, atlanta, and Nashville metros, and in Northern and coastal VA

6. I suspect THAT is the ticket that KKKRove fears the most!!
Now, as to whether we get that ticket, I dunno. I fear the DNC/DLC power brokers have far different ideas (which do not include Dean, either).

This is about pandering to the South.

bone of the dog reflected in a puddle of water.

One of these days you are going to lose Michigan or Pennsylvania with this constant obsession on the South. It won't be pretty.

And yes it is pandering, because it has nothing to do with the politics of the candidates. It is purely a geographical gesture.

With all due respect to our Southern friends, an all-Southerner ticket won't fly North of the Mason-Dixon line.

Our Southern friends would squawk if we presented them with an all-Yankee ticket.

17. Good point!
I like a Clark/Edwards ticket. They are both amicable and articulate people who come accross very well in person and on television. I believe it could really work well for us.

20. Gore, Georgetown!
Al Gore lived most of his life in Washington, DC area, first as the son of the Senator Albert Gore, and then as a Senator himself.

27. so what's your point? We can nominate southernors as long as they
aren't working class?

The Gores are Tennessee political royalty, or at least the closest thing to it. His father is an idol there.

No doubt, they do have what it takes. Would I vote for them, hell yes! Not my ideal choice of candidates, but I'd welcome them with open arms.
