Suggestion to Senator Obama regarding Iraq
Edited on Wed Apr-09-08 08:31 AM by monicaaida
Dear Senator Obama,

In a conversation i had with my former state senator, he suggest some talking points from his experience that you may want to consider. He suggests that you propose that instead of our troops policing the civil war between the Sunni and the Shite, an all Muslim peace keeping force be formed of sunni and shite from various Muslim countries. If the people of Iraq can see people that look like them and share their traditional values, yet they come from different sects and want to end the violence that sends a signal that stretches from village to city alike. He told me in his own experience, that his community had gang violence, and people would die everyday. There was a saying there that you either leave in a jail bus, or a body bag. The city was very concerned and they would send in white police officers, these people were just and good officers that just wanted everyone safe, and good friends of his. The problem wasn't that, the issue was the community had an internal distrust of white cops. He proposed to the department that they start off by sending only African American officers in to gain the trust of the community, and to slowly intergrate white officers with the black. The results were remarkable and violence dropped. Thank you for reading and considering.

Sincerely,

concerned voter
