South Tahoe Man Killed In Iraq

Soldier Died April 7

The body of a soldier who died April 7 has been identified as a South Lake Tahoe, Calif., man, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
Sgt. Timothy M. Smith, 25, died when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device.


Smith was stationed in Fort Polk, La., and was assigned to the 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, and 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry).
