I claim coinage of this term: "straw rage" |
|
Straw Rage: <n> A strawman thread or argument, created specifically for the purpose of generating or leveraging rage (and ideally faux rage).

During the making of the movie of the Wizard of Oz, one day on the set Ray Bolger blew his top and yelled at both Bert Lahr and Jack Haley for no apparent reason. Later, Mr. Bolger apologized and blamed the entire incident on his costume, saying that the straw used to make his costume irritated him so much that it had caused him to go on "a straw rage".
Bert Lahr never forgot the terrible incident, and in later years relied on eating bags of Fritos Corn Chips to help calm down his case of nerves.
Just so ya know.
