Light Notes About Michelle Obama
Edited on Wed Apr-09-08 06:45 PM by monmouth
As someone who has worked in the fashion industry and now retired, I can only think how my old fashion editors are salivating to try and get a cover of Michelle. The woman just knows how to dress, pulls it all together with such style and grace. You have to have a certain body in order to wear her beautiful clothes, she's tall, rangey, lightly muscular, and I would bet was a heck of an athelete back in the day. I always love to hear her speak, but to tell the truth, I cannot wait to see what she is wearing, always, always stylish.

This is by no means taking anything away from Senator Clinton. She is always dressed lovely and her makeup and hair are flawless. (I noticed Mrs. C had a few blonde streaks put in and it looks great). I do wish she would try a mid-calf length skirt once in a while but if she's comfortable then so be it.

I hope this doesn't come off as a fashion critique, didn't mean for it to, but was also thinking that had it been Michelle at the bowling alley, well.......ya know????

1. I don't know whether she was into sports- but her brother was
and he's now the head basketball coach at Oregon State.

On the fashion angle, anything would be an improvement on Laura Bush.

7. Get up to speed...

Craig Robinson took the first steps of his post-college basketball career when the then-20-year-old Princeton forward walked off the Gill Coliseum court after a 51-42 loss to Boston College in the second round of the 1983 NCAA tournament.

Nearly a quarter-century later, the journey continued on that same storied hardwood. Piped aboard by the Oregon State fight song, the 45-year-old Robinson was introduced as the new captain of the Beavers’ men’s basketball ship on Monday afternoon before a phalanx of media and about 300 curious boosters watching from the courtside bleachers and lower balcony.

6. And she's not buttoned up tight in Chanel like Cindy McCain.
The difference between Michele Obama and Hillary Clinton (in my non-professional view) is the like difference I see between European and Americans. I can't quite put my finger on it -- a panache, maybe? But I swear I can tell a European on the street at a glance. If we dressed a European and American woman in the exact same ensemble -- including identical accessories -- it would still be evident who was who.

It's the feeling of the person wearing the clothes, rather than the clothes wearing the person.

10. Panache is the word
She's so put together, but it all weighs easy on her.
