If you could predict from lawn signs who is going to win PA
I drove all around the Philly burbs today for various reasons. I didn't see one Obama sign. I didn't see one McCain sign. I saw a few Hillary signs, but not many especially considering how much area I covered driving around. I saw at least a hundred fricking Ron Paul signs. What is it with Paultards anyway?

And some state senator candidate had a sign posted every tenth of a mile on the blue route.

I did see a couple of Obama bumper stickers.

2. DO NOT call them PUALTARDS!!
I am serious!

Those are young voters who are fucking pissed with the way the republican party is going and have given their support behind Paul.

Now that Paul is defeated they will be looking for the next best thing which is Obama.

If we alienate them it could cost in the GE. Remember there is ALOT of them.

I'd say they represent maybe the same amount of people as Nader does.

They are going to write his name in during the GE. I talked to a few of them while registering voters in March in PA.

But the OP is right. In NW Indiana I haven't seen one Hillary, McCain or Obama sign. Just a bunch of shrines (and I do mean shrines..signs surrounded by streamers and flags) to Ron Paul.

I guess his campaign raised so much cash for a campaign destined to go nowhere, they now have to find ways to spend it...

They're young tweenies without a clue to the real world.

If you want to confuse a Paultard, ask them how Paul is for free trade and opposes any free trade agreement. Anyone who supports Paul is bass ackwards.

6. Obama lawn signs are on back order and will be available in PA shortly
You would not believe how many Obama yard signs showed up in Wisconsin about a week before the primary date. The Madison office was literally the next office from my office and about a week before the election, THOUSANDS of Obama yard signs, bumperstickers, beautiful posters, buttons and other merchandise came in a large truck.

In Madison, I can see at least two dozen yard signs on my 2 mile commute to my office.

Yard signs are a silly thing really. Many political pros don't think they even matter and they are kind of unwieldy to deliver. But I will bet that there will be a lot of Obama yard signs showing up very soon.

As for Ron Paul fans, despite the few drunks I've run into, most of them are ripe to vote for a Democrat like Obama in the GE... they are wayward Republicans that just need a subtle push into our camp.

16. That last line is very important.
These Ron Paul folks are sick and tired of bush style government (Remember that many of them did not pay attention during the Clinton years)

If we talk to them and encourage them to do their research on Obama they have a good chance of switching.

Think about it.

Writing in Ron Paul = Meaningless and it hurts Both McCain and Obama
Voting for McCain= Voting for more of what they hate
Voting for Obama= A middle ground that they can feel good in being part of.

Hard line republicans hate Ron Paul he is the biggest threat to their ideas of gov and they drove him out of the effective race in my view.

Also while Ron Paul thinks he is better with the Republicans, Ron Paul spent most of his time as a republican in a different Era. Where most republicans were more for fiscal conservatism (Democrats Spend Republicans Save!) During this campaign he got a huge dose of modern republican tricks.

He is getting up there in years (He wont be able to effectively run in 2016) however I think at this rate he may switch to democrat or independent.

30. The Ron Paul people I've run into...
OK, the night Obama won Wisconsin handily, I was in Madison celebrating when a couple really drunk Ron Paul guys tried to fight me after seeing my Obama hat...I slammed one guy into the ice and he did a ricochet with his buddy and they both lay in the ice until we helped them up. Poor fellows...

But other times I've conversed with Ron Paul fans, they pretty much were ardent Liberatarians than were willing to look past Paul's odd pro-life support and some other issues. They were anti-Bush, anti-war and sick of the Republicans that supported Bush. In other words, they were ripe for becoming Democrats but just needed a little extra effort for them to not think they would be commie "socialists".

As I have run into people who voted for Bush both times and are not going to vote for Obama, Ron Paul fans even wince when they hear the name Sean Hannity. They want a new ride. Let's give them a hand.

10. Almost impossible to get Obama signs
Over the last month, it has been almost impossible to get Obama yard signs in PA. The lack of signs is not because of a lack of demand. The campaign put most of its money into TV and radio ads, and not into signs.

blue collar neighborhoods,
hard working men laid off from Bethlehem steel,
puerto rican neighborhoods,
and lots and lots of middle aged women....

Yes, right here, when I drive from my home
up route 309, north,
and I-78 East and WEst...

I see MANY MANY signs for Barack Obama...
on grassy lawns,
in rowhouse blocks,
and in row after row.....

Many...

Those crazy kids for Ron Paul have dotted
the I-78 corridor with his signs...

Oh, and I did see one Hillary sign in Quakertown....

Place your bets, folks, place your bets...

40. Yes Beth Steel was over in the '80s.... but..
10 years later Beth Steel reneged on all of the
pensions and health care that were guaranteed the
employees and retirees...Too many folks out there
without income and health care....

And the building of casinos on the site of the
abandoned steel works on Bethlehem's south side
is causing much uproar amongst the peoples....

The state is selling it like an economic opportunity.
Sadly, those who'll benefit from this 'opportunity'
won't be the residents, and the lower middle class.

48. That would be deadly...
do not remind the folks of hard times...

They need hope; there's been a lot of development
in Lehigh Valley, but not in the cities proper,
and that's the death knell... there really should
be some urban development to keep the middle class
in the cities (when I say cities I mean Allentown,
Bethlehem and Easton) and thus boost the tax base.

Most of the economic development is in the suburbs,
particularly outside the city centers...

Usually two weeks before a primary we're covered with signs--not just for the major races but also for stuff like county clerk. This year there are hardly any signs. On my way home from work (Washington, PA) there are six Obama signs and 4 Hillary signs. Last weekend I was in Sewickley which I had figured for Obama territory and spotted just one Ron Paul sign.
