Marist poll: Obama vs. McCain in NY
Edited on Wed Apr-09-08 09:21 PM by Papi
McCain 48%, Obama 46%.

McCain vs. Clinton is not worth mentioning since she will not be our nominee.

Some McCain/Condi vs. Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton matchups are also explored besides individual McCain vs. Obama and McCain vs. Clinton matchups.

Edited on Wed Apr-09-08 09:34 PM by Cali_Democrat
I could never imagine New York voting for a Rethug. New York is like my second home. I don't know a soul there that would vote Republican, well very few. This poll has gotta be bullshit. I don't believe it.

33. Buffalo area too huh?
I'm in Watertown and we're a pretty conservative enclave. I actually think this area will go to McCain sadly enough. Everyone here is always made to be scared to death of the potential closing of Fort Drum. Obama will be seen as detrimental to the military industrial complex. He'll rule in bigger cities though.

it also says Clinton/obama still loses to McCain/Condi. Apparently NY dosnt like Hillary or Barack. And prefers Condi to both. Yup. She is the poster for not taking things for granted. And the polar oposite of a empty suit. How's that fit your little smear?

17. That poll is only for this moment in time.
A lot can change between now and November, and I imagine that McCain is looking better in polls in all states because of our drawn out primary. No one is holding McCain's feet to the fire yet--the M$M sure isn't going to do it, and we don't have a candidate yet to go after him. Once our candidate is chosen, look for McCain's numbers to drop across the board.

There is no way NY is going red this year. Put your money on it.

24. Sorry.....
Obama's not losing NY. Dukakis won NY.

2004: Kerry wins NY 58-40
2000: Gore wins NY 60-35
1996: Clinton wins NY 59-30
1992: Clinton wins NY 49-33
1988: Dukakis wins NY 51-47

Last Dem to lose NY was Mondale (and he lost almost everywhere).

Going against the Junior Senator from New York. Time will heal all wounds, but it's not making McCain any younger.

37. This poll is bullshit. New York is a safe Democratic state.
All you need to see to realize that this poll is bullshit is to see that Hillary is only up 2 points in her home state.

Obama will win by 15-20 points.
