"Your Song" from Elton John to Hillary

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080410/ap_en_mu/clinton_concert;_ylt=AtJ7bFzSUQ3r_VOETxjB2yWs0NUE

"I've always been a Hillary supporter," John, 61, said before launching into his 1970 breakthrough hits, "Your Song" and "Border Song." "There is no one more qualified to lead America."

.... I love you Hillary, I'll be there for you."

affection for Hillary

Sir Elton and Democratic Friends

By JULIE BOSMAN
Published: April 10, 2008

Sir Elton John was the main attraction on Wednesday night at Radio City Music Hall in New York, but the spotlight was really on Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, who was lavished with donations to her presidential campaign.

The event brought in more than $2.5 million, according to the campaign, from the sale of more than 5,000 tickets.

The concert was announced in March with a mass e-mail message to Mrs. Clinton’s supporters, signed by Elton John. “There is nothing I like better than throwing a party for a good friend,” the message said in part.

Besides Mr. John’s lavish costumes, dazzling piano works and sing-along songs, the event promised to feature a photographable Clinton moment: Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton all together, presumably front and center on the cavernous Radio City stage.

21. I don't hate her
I just don't want her to be the nominee. I hope they had a wonderful family moment and that all her supporters had a good time at the concert. It seems to be a constructive event as opposed to what is being planned tommorow at the Today show.

2. I haven't found too much commentary that treats these folks with the respect they deserve
. . . all that disrespect for the sake of the advancement of one man. Incredible. These two you posted are okay, though. Short and to the point.

I imagine there was someone out these who had a great time at the concert. I think there aren't many folks who don't have at least one favorite Elton John song in their head.

14. Such a shame
The BO supporters post such anger if you read between the lines. Why even bother to spread your venom in a post which is a tribute to the Clinton's.You need to also look inward to see just how bitter and ugly your post sounds.

25. Thank You rodeodance for posting this
Growing up I loved his music. Also, his song, candle in the wind was the theme song during the AIDS crisis and he dedicated it to Ryan White before Ryan died. Elton John should be praised for his work with AIDS. I don't know Elton John personally but every thing I have read, heard and seen in his concerts were very positive. I remember when he was becoming very popular and he had a concert in NY and one of the guests who went on stage with him was Billie Jean King many years ago. BJK was one of the best tennis players in the world. She finally came out as a lesbian. She fought tooth and nail for women's rights and was a cornerstone leader in getting (what was the bill, title 9?, can someone help me here, for equal rights among ladies in sports; etc). Anyway, I love Elton John because of his fight for the cure of AIDS, especially in Africa where it is wide spread. So, just because he held a concert for Hillary does not make him a bad person. People need to look at the good things he has done. :)

I'm not going to fault Hillary for having a fundraiser and bringing in a big-name performer like Elton. I might disagree with his 'misogynist' comments, if he was inferring that not supporting Hillary is somehow misogynistic. Other than that, I really don't see anything wrong with it.
