1. It's just press
McCain has had a lot of good press lately. Obama has been coasting for a while.

Once he starts campaigning the numbers will shift. It's inevitable.

5. That doesn't explain it. Clinton lost only 2 points. Obama lost 10
And the rethugs have yet to send their attack dogs after Obama... He could be 10 points down by the convention.

Poll Gives Large Lead To Dukakis Over Bush

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: June 17, 1988

LEAD: Gov. Michael S. Dukakis held a 15-point lead over Vice President Bush in an NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll released yesterday, largely on the strength of overwhelming support for Mr. Dukakis among women.

Gov. Michael S. Dukakis held a 15-point lead over Vice President Bush in an NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll released yesterday, largely on the strength of overwhelming support for Mr. Dukakis among women.

Mr. Dukakis was supported by 49 percent of the registered voters in the poll, as against 34 percent for Mr. Bush, NBC News reported. Among men the split was 46 percent to 40 percent for Mr. Dukakis, but among women his margin was 52 percent to 28 percent.

The national survey of 2,014 adults was conducted June 9-12. Its result was similar to that of a Gallup poll, conducted June 10-12, that found a 14-point Dukakis lead. Two other polls early in June put the Massachusetts Governor's lead in single digits; others in May had Mr. Dukakis's lead as great as 16 points.

6. Bill Clinton won due to women as well
Dukakis? He was a "new" candidate who did well in national polls against the rethug early until they defined him as a far left America hater tied to a rapist. If you think Horton was bad wait until they use William Ayers against Obama...

He's the Black candidate.....so he's got to be radical.

Meanwhile the clintons lie left and right.....whatever.

Just remember, she wins the nomination in any of this kind of fashion, she loses the general election. That's just the way it is.
If it can't be a fair election based on something other than character assassination and the politics of divisive hate via weak association, millions will sit on their hands or start looking at McSame, as you know.

Not all Democrats are under educated or stupid.

So go for it, and good luck! You'll need it. :hi:

17. OBAMA is playing Dukakis.
Why? He is unknown, and will be defined and swiftboated by Republicans. That's what happened with Dukakis (Willie Horton), and that's what will happen to Obama, just 3 years out of the state senate and unknown.

Swiftboating doesn't work nearly as well against a well known candidate.

Compared to when Obama led, McCain now has all former GOP candidates support last week Obama was 2 points behind.

35. I was born and raised as a democrat
I have never voted for a republican for president or any other office (except for Charles Mac Mathias who was a better democrat than the democrat running against him). If you can't accept that some of us do not like Obama for many reasons, then maybe you need to look up what it means to be democratic. In a way it is comforting to realize that I am not a Yellow Dog Democrat. My cats hiss at you. (I'm also a cat person.) Time to call it a night, I have lots to do tomorrow and a very active weekend. Don't stay up too late children.
