Donna Brazile for Obama? Maybe - Read her email here
Edited on Fri Apr-11-08 12:49 PM by NewHampster
A blogger over at HillarysBloggers has posted an entire email exchange that sure gives the impression that Donna Brazile is an Obama supporter. If so, why is she working for CNN as an impartial observer?

For the last several months it’s been pretty obvious to anyone who watches CNN, that "neutral" commentator Donna Brazile actually harbors anti-Hillary feelings, if not an outright preference for Obama. CNN decided to bench pundit James Carville because of his pro-Clinton bias. Maybe CNN doesn’t yet believe that Brazile has taken sides.
Bothered by her obvious bias, last month I began an e-mail correspondence with Brazile to express my disappointment in her as a DNC leader. I share some of what she wrote back to me below. If CNN doesn’t pull the plug on her after they read this, then Saturday Night Live was right when they said CNN was in the tank for Obama.
masslib :: Donna Brazile is for Obama
I’m making these e-mails public not just because I don’t want to see her on CNN, but because with rumors afoot of her aspirations to be DNC Chair if Obama becomes the nominee, I think it’s important that Democrats see what they would be in for. While I appreciate her willingness to correspond with me, what you can see in these excerpts is an individual who doesn’t have the political saavy to communicate with the public (keep in mind I was an anonymous stranger when she wrote to me) in an appropriate and pro-Party fashion. You can see that she has no problem creating inferences that Hillary Clinton is a racist. You can see that she feels she has no responsibility to stand up against sexism. And you can see most shockingly that she resents Democrats for leaving her out in the cold since managing Al Gore’s losing 2000 campaign, finding the highest praise not for those in the Party she aspires to lead, but for Republicans.
Without further ado, here are some choice excerpts from our exchange.

Masslib goes onto post the actual emails, here are a couple.

DB: I defended the Clintons and it was Black people who kept their asses in office.
Now, show respect and not indifference or worse insularity and more insults.
I am not checking my black or feminist credentials into the locker box for either candidate.

DB: Blacks have been deeply wounded by the duplicity of the Clintons. Now, you may not like it or agree. But as a black person who helped saved the Clinton presidency, please just respect what I am saying.
Again, you disagree. But, I honestly believe the wounds will not heal. It’s personal and the Clintons have shown their darker demons.
Now, I will end it here. I was Al Gore's Campaign Manager. Let the buck stop here.
If I make a decision to go with Obama, people read it as Al Gore hates the Clintons.
So, I stay above the bull and do not take bull from the Clintons or the
Obamas or the McCains.
I don’t owe anybody a dime. And if I counted who has helped me since 2000, its Republican men and not Democrats.
Go figure and good night.

4.  Making Donna Brazile a target is not wise at all. Will backfire.
These Hillary blog sites are going overboard. Kind of sad.

I like Donna Brazile, and I respect her far more right now than I do the Clintons.

But she has to keep her impression of neutrality to keep her job at CNN.

20. Donna Brazile is an Obama supporter through and through..
She threatened to resign as Chairman of the CBC if Obama loses the nomination to Hillary.

I have read many of Donna Brazile's racist e-mails. She has an agenda with Obama and intends to do everything in her power to see him as the Dem Nominee. If she thinks she's going to get away with this thuggery, she's got another thing coming.

Don't let the door hit you Donna!

10. Have no problem with what she said
Looks to me like she is just calling it like she sees it. there are many people who aren't in either the Obama or Clinton camp who feel the exact same way she does.

11. So is Donna Brazile the new "target"?
I'll say this for the Clinton surrogates, they're pissing off all the wrong people. They won no friends when they went after Randi, who has a big old microphone, and now has a score to settle. They won no friends when they sought to take out David Schuster; in fact, I think Keith took it personally. And now they're going after Brazile's job as well. Have you guys lost your minds? Who's gonna be left to defend Hillary, should she become the nominee?

Unless the ultimate goal is to destroy the party from within, this scorched earth, burn every bridge thing will leave her completely defenseless against a corporate media that just loves John McCain. What she'll be left with is a totally unenthused progressive media, who just won't give a damn. Damned if I can figure you guys out....

13. I have never understood why she is a commentator on CNN
She lost the Gore campaign, rarely has anything of substance to say - when I do watch that program - and, until recently, has never earned any points on DU. Of course. once someone supports Obama - all is forgiven.

Same with Maureen Dowd.

17. I've heard comments from the people in your OP and there are
a lot of folks out here that just don't think those type of people need to be speaking for Dems, any Dems. Randi Rhodes, was so disgusting. It's one thing to have a political opinion it's something else to be despicable. It's bad enough from men but for a woman especially in public it is wrong. It's no wonder the kids are so vulgar when parents talk that way. I don't like BO but I don't call him names, in public or private. It was completely inappropriate for Randi to speak of fellow Dems like she did.

21. your "concern" is noted....
I would hope that you were just as outraged when Hillary endorsed a "Republican" over a "fellow Dem"?

Were you outraged at Geraldine Ferraro when she told the world that if Obama weren't black he wouldn't be where he is today? Obama's a "fellow Dem".

Were you equally outraged when Ed Rendell went on teevee to tell the world that Pennsylvanians wouldn't vote for a black man? Obama's a "fellow Dem".

Were you outraged when it came to light that a Clinton campaign staffer had circulated that picture of Obama in traditional Somali garb to hurt him electorally? Obama's a "fellow Dem".

Were you outraged when Bill Clinton stood onstage espousing the patriotism of his wife, and the "Republican" nominee, thereby calling into question Obama's patriotism? Obama's a "fellow Dem".

You'll forgive me if I don't take your selective poutrage at face value.

24. I thought everyone knew Donna was a BO shill. I know several
people who messaged her everyday on her pda

They would post the exchanges for all to read and to put it kindly

she was very unprofessional. The funny thing is that rather than just not respond

she would respond and say the most outrageous and stupid things

I'm sure someone will write a book about it

Some of her nonsense would make your head spin
