Is is possible that Bill does not want Hillary to win the nomination? |
|
I'm having trouble coming up with another explanation for his recent behavior: more race-baiting, weird comments on their marriage and bringing up the Tuzla story AGAIN. Could this be a not-so-subtle effort to undermine her candidacy?

back up after it had (sadly) sunk out of the headlines. I suppose if your wife is the president it would put a crimp in your half million dollar speaking engagements . . . among other things. Very suspicious.

2. It is certainly possible that he is the main reason she is behind in this race. |
|
Everytime he gets himself back in the news, a lot of people ask themselves - "Do I really want to be seeing the Clintons and hearing about them every day for the next 5 to 9 years?"

I had the sense early on with her campaign that she needed to make clear one way or another that she was the new boss, and Bill Clinton was only a tool in her belt for solving problems. Sadly, it never came to pass.

5. He may be thinking 2012 is a better chance for her |
|
Let Obama run against McLame. If Bomb Bomb wins, he'll be too old to run effectively for a second term and Obama will be damaged goods in 2012, so she can run again. If Obama wins, she's got to hope that he fumbles things so she can "rescue" the party in 2012.

Well, not unless President Obama appoints his wife Secretary of Health & Human Services right before there's a tragic-yet-gargantuan limo pile up on the way to the 2010 State of the Union Address.

11. There was a certain radio host who said this a few months back. |
|
Yes, Randi Rhodes did say once that the only way she could understand what is going on with him is that he doesn't want her to win so he can divorce her. Well I think the divorce theory is a little extreme, but it does seem like he's not helping much.

12. My thoughts have been |
|
that Bill Clinton is at least as capable an influence of sabatoge as he is gifted in the enterprise of self destruction. My amatuer armchair speculation is that he doesn't want to be overshadowed by either of them. He isn't exactly helping Obama as he damages Hillary's chances.

14. He may simply be past his prime. |
|
Clinton was an excellent president--the best in my lifetime. But he's been at the top of the mountain for 16 years now. I think it may be possible that he lacks some the perspective and spontaneity that made him so perfect for the country in the 1990s.
Think of him as our generation's Harry Truman. No one remembers Hatrack Harry getting clobbered in the 1952 primaries and being forced to drop out of the race, thoroughly rejected by the voters who'd loved him so much just four years ealier. A generation from now, we'll think of the Clintons as valuable leaders--a visionary president and a hard working senator, valuable allies as President Obama began to reinstall the Bill of Rights and repair our nation's reputation overseas.

He said "gotta win Texas," he said about Jesse Jackson, bringing in race, several things all along the way that aren't readily coming to mind now, but there have been plenty things to make me suspicious that he's sabotaging her. Bill Clinton KNOWS what he's saying. If he's not sabotaging her, then what the hell is he thinking!

and the fact that he spoke first from Independence, MO before she spoke following that day's primary.
I wondered then and I wonder now if he somehow thinks her making the top spot would take away from his legacy as opposed to add to it.

Alzheimer's. And not in a mean way. It runs in one wing of my family and the onset is very slow sometimes. Barely noticeable.
It's just hard to believe that Bill Clinton would say the stuff he's said if he were all right in the head.
