1. I agree its lame, but as private citizens they have a right to do that. |
|
I just wish hillary supporters would feel torture or the war were worth protesting instead, but we all have our priorities.

2. What a pretentious comment. I marched against the war and probably |
|
most of those protesters did as well. And yes Virginia, there are other issues as well as the war. Some of us can handle protesting other issues as well. Some of us can even work on local issues as well as national ones. Your broad brush of all who do not support your candidate is disgusting. And there were over 150 people there, which for 8AM on a weekday was not a bad turnout.

 I just don't agree this issue is as weighty as protesting torture and the war. Are you saying it is?
how is that pretentious in any way?
bristle much?
I never argued with any crowd number. You must be lumping together several posters in your outrage.

7. Actually, I do find sexism just as important an issue. It certainly is to those women |
|
"sold" into slavery and prostitution in our major cities.human trafficking is a huge problem and it effects mostly women. I wasn't remonstrating you about the crowd number. it was a general comment. But I do not believe supporters of any candidate can claim "special" ownership over war protests. it is insulting that you would claim otherwise. You inferred that they couldn't be bothered protesting the war when you know nothing about them. And that did cause me to bristle.

8. A keith olberman report on the clinton campaign is equivalent to slavery and prostitution? |
|
I'd say we disagree on proportional outrage.

9. Sexism is the point of origin of human trafficking. It must be stopped at its inception. |
|
The double standard applied to the press treatment of male and female candidates gives credibility to the disregard for women. It is all part of our culture. And as for proportional, there were of course much larger crowds against the war and more folks were concerned. I would ask though, where were any protests at all against human trafficking? There were none.
This is not just about a 'political campaign'. this is about bias and sexism in this nation. That is what the people were protesting and it is certainly about time someone did.I am grateful these people took a stand.

not a peep from ANY of the network news stations
I have nothing but contempt for these people
fake feminists, fake protest, fake issue
ZERO solidarity with TRUE activists
I guess I'll just keep saying it
our focus is skewed... we're politically marginalized by this superfluous dog and pony show
