Just as the campaign started here in PA, I posted a thread which said that the worst aspect of this campaign here would be Tweety's usurpation of the title "Pennsylvania's Correspondent on the National Scene".

His continuous obnoxious pseudo-familiarity with all things Philly is so over-the-top and insipid, it's just unbelievable. He brings up issues which would perhaps sound intriguing but are part of the landscape here, and any fool who reads a paper or listens to the news would know that his references are complete generalities, not specific and certainly no secret to anyone, even a fifth grader...insider status not required, believe me. Yeah, I know he was born and raised around here, but I have never in all these years met one person who has said to me, "I knew Chris Matthews before he was a 'celebrity'." I know many who knew Andrea Mitchell, Jessica Savitch, Jack Klugman, and many many other people who left here and became Very Big Deals. No one has ever mentioned Tweety.

Today, he was talking about 'street money' which is given out by ward leaders on election day to there subordinates who GOTV and do other errands on the Day. Yeah, no shit Tweety...why don't you talk about the time that one candidate's minions stole voter registration books from polling places the night before the PA primary in 1980? Probably because he didn't know about that or any one of a thousand other inside stories, such as why Ed Rendell was really made Mayor of Philly. There is one and only one reason and here's a clue...drop the coins and pull the handle. (True, the machines use credits not coins anymore but you get the idea).

The only 'story' he'd been referring to which he thought no one knew about was when our US Attorney David Marion was 'eliminated from the scene' when he got too close to some during the Carter years. That was Tweety's defense of Junior's US Attorney scandal - everyone does it. Like he had inside info or something.

Two words: Bull Shit.
