Sign of desperation: Clinton painting Obama as being elitist.
Edited on Fri Apr-11-08 10:37 PM by Kerry2008
Senator Clinton of all people.

Painting Senator Obama as being elitist?

Is this how low this has gotten for her? Has her selfish quest for power blinded the fact she's doing actual damage to the ONLY candidate with an actual path to the nomination?

It's bad enough she's clinging onto her pathetic ambitions over the will of the party and the nation, but now she has to distort what Obama has said and try and beat up the parties chances of victory in November by painting Obama as elitist and saying he "looks down" on middle class voters.

How come everyone who is ACTUALLY paying any attention knows what he was trying to say. But just like George W. Bush in 2004 did to John Kerry with the "I actually voted for..." line, she'll distort it and twist it. The American people won't know any better, and won't look into it other than to get angry at Barack.

It's nasty, low politics that I'd expect from Karl Rove.

From a candidate I respect and admire, and once supported--this has gotten out of hand!!

Thanks for giving Senator McCain a talking point for the General Election, Hillary.

Notice I impled Senator Obama will be the nominee. Perhaps unlike you, I can see the writing on the wall and can do simple math. Thanks for nothing!

6. On September 1, 1939, Hitler told the Reichstag that Poland had attacked Germany
and that the German forces were repelling the attackers. Many Germans chose to believe Hitler's lies because it was easier than considering the alternative possibility that Germany was an aggressor nation.

Obama speaks the truth, a truth that many people have trouble dealing with because to do so would collapse their tenuous moral universe.

Hillary is as much a liar and an opportunist as Hitler, and all the other demagogues of history, including Evita Peron.

Not only is it plain that Barack Obama is no elitist, he's the only candidate who gets it. He has obviously read "What's the Matter with Kansas?" or at least read the Cliff's Notes.

Republicans have been masters at getting working people to vote against their own interests time and again. And why shouldn't they? The American middle class stood by powerless for 30 years while their corporate-sponsored "representatives" pushed them into a downward economic spiral. Republicans tapped into this: They gave the public a sense of control by tossing out the political red-meat of god, guns and gays.

And what did Democrats do? Rather than risk losing the corporate largess they'd become attached to, they became a watered-down version of the Republican Party.

Obama - unlike Clinton - isn't sucking up to the Corporatocracy any more. Yes, people in the heartland are bitter. Yes, they vote against their interests when there is nothing left to vote for. Now Barack Obama has done something brilliant by opening up the field to the long-ignored question: Who's going to give a damn about your real interests?

9. Check out HuffPo
If you look at the updates on this post, you'll see how Hillary is using Republican talking points from Grover Norquist and Ed Rollins to back her claims.

Hillary is a REPUBLICAN! Real Democrats never link to GOP trash!

11. Hillary didn't start it. It's a GOP frame. They were just WAITING for any excuse to pull "elitist"
out of their old, worn-out bag of tricks.

And today the GOP picked their butchered Obama quote and Hillary decided to jump on it as well.

17. Sure Hillary. Go find any poll showing what Americans are concerned about.
And tell me if you see the word "elitist" anywhere.

This is why people are flocking to Obama. How fucking out to lunch do you have to be, considering ALL that's riding on this election, to say to voters, "Vote for me, he's elitist" She's the epitome of everything people hate about Washington.
