Is it me, or is there something wrong with Presidential campaigns?
Seems that the entire bane of campaigning is to see which candidate makes a worse gaffe. It's ridiculous because candidates are human, they make mistakes, have bad days. They are followed 24/7, every sound that comes out of their mouth is analyzed to no end. We know they don't mean it the way the media portrays but its all a game. Meanwhile the real issues are ignored. Seems obvious that in a year long campaign, we shouldn't define a candidate because he or she made a mistake. Of course, there are huge blunders, but they should be on issues of real substance if judgment should be made. But lets be fair. Would half of our Presidents have made it in an environment like we have today? All this "gotya" media coverage is destructive. It's like campaigning for the Presidency is a contest to see which candidate has their character more intact by the end of the race. No wonder why people are turned off to politics.

1. I agree. Which is why it was so refreshing to hear Chelsea Clinton says: None of you business
I think that if more politicians will say this, we may restore sanity to the campaign and concentrate on policies and platforms.

You can blame the Internet for that. Now that we have 24/7 blogs and online newspapers they feel the need to constantly update them.

3. Yes
There is something wrong. There has been something wrong from the beginning. Now, it's just worse.

4. Get on board! That wasn't a gaffe, that was speaking truth about the powerless.

6. No. It isn't you. Presidential campaigns have become a farce, an
exercise in character assassination, no substance, no facts, no issues that matter to the people are discussed.
