1. You really don't see that they are not mutually exclusive emotions?
You must be very simple.

Obama, is handling this crap beautifully. Now how about you St Hillary of Perpetual Victimhood acolytes spinning her sending out emails of Grover Norquist smearing Obama to support her weak case. She's such a right wing suck up and liar.

4. and Projection the new Leadership
Insulting voters is a good thing unless you get caught, then you blame it on Clinton and her supporters.

These guys have the emotional maturity of 15 year olds.

5. DU has been a bitter place for the last 7 plus years...
Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 08:09 AM by kentuck
Those that have posted here, including the OP, have expressed bitterness at one time or another. At the same time, all have held out hope that things would get better. So, the folks here have exhibited both emotions - hope and bitterness. Now they are showing their hypocrisy.

6. No, think about it
At the end of apartheid many blacks were bitter about how the whites had taken their land, "enslaved" them and made them live in awful conditions - but at the chance to be able to vote for the first time, they were so filled with hope for a better future that the voting lines stretched for miles on dusty roads, in sad townships beset with poverty and all over that country - in numbers that were impressive.

The bitterness and resentment was so strong, that Desmond Tutu called for the "Peace and Reconciliation" hearings so that bitterness could be replaced with hope and friendship in that torn and bleeding nation.

7. What's to spin?
Bitter about politics as usual and politicians who offer pablum rather than solutions, so we hope for change from it. Don't you?

Bitter about Bush, hope for change from him, bitter about job loss, hope for a change in direction, etc. That doesn't describe the national condition?

13. It isn't exactly what you asked either
But hey, good spin ;)

If you want to examine his comments in context we can do that. If you'd like to spin a bit and toss out lines like the above out of context then complain that someone else actually answered what you asked, well, everyone needs a hobby I'd guess. Doesn't make much of a case that anyone but you is spinning though.

15. Are you only capable of feeling one emotion at a time?
I'm both embittered over what's happened to this country over recent years, and hopeful that things can and will be remedied sooner than later.

So there.
