I am really sick of the primaries. The process has been going on so long, it's the same tired speeches and rhetoric, no one is really even paying attention anymore because it's been so long between actual primaries. There is just sniping over the most minor things that have no real relevance to the election. Just pick a candidate already and let the real election get going.

2. You're saying that because you're a political junkie. |
|
Never forget that the average voter isn't paying all that much attention right now.

Have you ever seen SUCH laser-like attention on such minor little things. Oooh, Obama disses small town folks. Oooh, Bill Clinton brought up Bosnia again. Oooh, an Obama delegate called some little kids in a tree "monkeys."
How about some laser-like attention on . . . Oh, I don't know . . . maybe the dismal failing city schools, the pending recession, judicial appointments, the war, the mid-east, high taxes, and on and on. But no -- let's instead focus on Obama's pastor and Bill's money from speeches. Because that's truly what is important.

7. Yep, you're posting here and watching cable news. |

So am I. :D
I'll always remember the time I attended Democracy Fest, a two day training for Dem activists, and they pointed out that the mere fact that we were all giving up our weekend to attend an activist training means ... We're Not Normal! A good lesson to learn when thinking about "the electorate." ;)
Everyone ELSE is working in the yard, watching American Idol, and, this weekend, doing their taxes. They'll start paying attention, if they're in a state with a primary, about two weeks out. And then about a month before the GE, if that. How do you think Obama manages to get those polls to slowly go up, in every primary state? Early polls skew towards Clinton because of name recognition alone. Nobody's really thinking about it six weeks out. Then... people sloooowly start paying attention... and his numbers go up.
