FOXNEWS, MSNBC, and CNN barely show any of Obama's response from last night
Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 11:49 AM by acrosstheuniverse
And yet they keep rotating the same old story to make people think Obama hates religious people, gun owners, and small towns. They have shown Hillary and Mccain's complete reactions to his comments but they only show snippets of his response to both of them last night and show a longer segment about how he conceded the wording was wrong this morning. If this is half as bad as Wright then that is very bad news for Obama in the state of Pennsylvania. Because all the media will continue to show a skewered perception of what he really said and meant. And the media LOVES negativity and controversy in the Democratic race. And people believe what they see on T.V. And FEAR is what people tend to base their votes on.

Expect Obama's numbers to go down because of this bullshit despite his home-run response to it last night which the media is basically ignoring.

But, the MSM online has picked up his response.

7. I'm not sure if he can bounce back from this in a week
It usually takes 2-3 days for the polls to be really effected by things like this. It took him weeks to get out of the Wright mess so Pennsylvania could easily become a major loss for him which will encourage Hillary to take her bullshit all the way to the Convention. I am estimating now it could be about 60-40 for her in that state.

11. I have a feeling you're being purposely inflammatory.
But I agree that she'll probably win PA by double digits after the media plays this up.

Not that it matters. He's still got the nomination locked up.

Nothing is fucked here. Nothing is fucked.

13. It's kind of hard to push the scary..
black dude and the elitist at the same time, isn't it? Seeing as how Hillary has been favored by 20, it would seem your 'major loss' for Obama would mean Hillary winning by 20+? What would constitute a 'loss' for Hillary?

14. I don't know,..........
.......contrary to the way the Media wants to make it sound - we're not idiots here in PA. We know when we're being looked down upon - and nobody I have talked to many people today about it (we're very, very rural - gunracks galore, hunting, fishing, blue collar, churches out the whazoo, etc) and nobody felt belittled, looked down on, etc - however, everyone is angry, frustrated and ,yes, BITTER.

It'll drag him down a bit - but let's face it - most people who do take Obama's statement in the sense the Media is claiming, won't vote for Obama anyways.

However, I do think he needs to get his butt back here, clarify it for good measure, and go on.

15. This doesn't surprise me one bit.
The corporate media is interested in one thing: profits. They want the Dem race to continue to the convention because it means big advertising dollars for them.

What kind of contortionist moves will they have to make to convince people that Obama hates religious people? They're not even done with Rev. Wright yet, but now they're trying to smear Obama as anti-religious.

16. Obama was describing the affects of class warfare that Big Business
has been waging over the last 40-50 years against the rest of us. CNN and most MSM are our "Mouths of Sauron" where Sauron = corporations. Corporations don't want us discussing class warfare or putting it under scrutiny because they are the guilty party to it.

The Clintons/DLC decided in the early 1990's to cater more to corporate interests than unions and working people. They wanted corporate cash in Dem coffers. By prostituting themselves and the Dem Party to corporate interests, the Clintons have damaged the Dem Party's connection with working people and that is what Thomas Frank in his book "What's the Matter with Kansas?" was saying.

No amount of bitching will do. You don't have to listen to that crap just turn it off. I rarely tune in to CNN and MSNBC anymore. I'll be damn if I help them in their ratings department while trying to bring down the Dem nominee.

23. Obama said what he meant, and they covered his further comments plenty. It's absurd to suggest
that the media isn't being fair with him. They bend over backwards to remind people that he was born in Bethlehem.

24. Well ...
Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 06:37 PM by GPSrulesall
Hate to say but if you cant handle the heat stay out of the kitchen. Lets analyze this shall we?

1) "They have shown Hillary and Mccain's complete reactions to his comments but they only show snippets of his response to both of them last night and show a longer segment about how he conceded the wording was wrong this morning."
I don't know when you were watching, but when I was viewing the major networks I saw nothing but his response in full...over...and over...and over again. Hillary has been attacked in the media for her comments/ campaign problems for weeks. Now it's Obama's turn. It may not be fair, to either candidate, but the media loves a story. Deal with it. It's Obama's turn.

2)"If this is half as bad as Wright then that is very bad news for Obama in the state of Pennsylvania."
This is correct, because these scandals show a lot about Barry's integrity, and shown the light of truth on his character. The honeymoon between Obama and the press is now over. He had one "get out of jail free card" and he used it on the Wright fiasco. The media overlooked the discrepancies and decided to promote his race speech, that did not answer all the questions Wright-gate raised. This time he has to answer to it, because a trend is settling in. And the media loves to build up people, but they love to implode them even more, its human nature that we love to watch suffering especially among the famous.

3) " Because all the media will continue to show a skewered perception of what he really said and meant. And the media LOVES negativity and controversy in the Democratic race. "
In the political world its not about what you mean, its how you say it. This is the problem with sound bites. Obama was elevated to his high status because of his charismatic abilities with the media. If he didn't realize this, then he is not as savvy as we thought. The media did this to Bill Clinton, they have done it to Hillary, they have done it George W. Bush. Obama is not special. He just getting what politicians get from the media. And I agree the media wants a long drawn out fight among democrats...afterall it is good television.

4) "And people believe what they see on T.V. And FEAR is what people tend to base their votes on."
Yes I agree. For Bush it was 911, for Obama its the economy. People have believed this false sense of a messiah in Obama, partly because of, you guessed it, the media. Now people will begin to believe that Obama is now an elitist pig that cares about the rich and hates those with faith. Don't be surprised to see the media take this issue, combine it with Wright, Michelle-O's "I'm not proud of my country" sound bite to form a trifecta that will probably cost him the PA primary. Let's face it even if Obama was truthful, voters don't like to be told the truth, especially if its deals with their qualities. But Obama was stupid to generalize to small towns. In fact he should have never said a thing about it.

5) "Expect Obama's numbers to go down because of this bullshit despite his home-run response to it last night which the media is basically ignoring."
If it were indeed a home-run response as you put it, the media would be having orgasms over it. They did so right after the race speech. If they're not doing it now ,they either know that blood is in the water and its a great story, or the speech was not very good. How can this be? My friends, it can be. You have fallen for the illusion of the media "fairness". The media is truly Judas. They will betray you on a dime.

In closing Obama supporters, Barack lives in a world where everyone is bitter and everyone is filled with seething hatred. From his wife and pastor, to small town rural america, he is convinced that everyone wants to share his anger and hatred. Sadly, the reality for him is that most Americans are not like this and thus his message of fear, hatred and bitterness will fail. It has been successfully dressed in the fine robes of "hope" and "change", but even superfluous language will not save his campaign.

I look forward to having a conversation with you all.
