Barack Obama has caught up with John McCain in the Tar Heel State. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds that both Obama and McCain attract 47% of the North Carolina vote in an early look at the race. Three percent (3%) say they would prefer a third-party option and 3% are undecided.

Obama has shown remarkable strength in red states. He's in a dead heat in Montana 48-43 and now tied in NC!!!

Did Pres. Clinton carry North Carolina?

The Montana poll can also be found on Rasmussen's website.

4. Also Clinton lost North Carolina in 1996 so Obama being....
in a competitive race here and tied is stunning.
