Ok, the "let it sink" campaign wasn't so successful. But, undeterred, I am announcing my personal "Make It Rise!" campaign to bump up positive, thoughtful posts from either side.
I invite all who are disgusted by the mean-sprited snark and/or drive-by slams of either candidate's supporters.
Y'all can come up with your own criteria, but mine are that the post be thoughtful, and with a minimum of "snark" against either side.
Make it rise!

And then, there's websites that have NOTHING TO DO with politics. I'm enjoying those too...Live Leak, Youtube, all sorts of amusements!
This place is close to jumping the old shark--there's no pretense at discourse, anymore. It's just a gang war.

You may be right... but DU was the first political board where I truly felt welcome and at home enough to "let my hair down" with like-minded people. I really don't want to give up on it...

I was about to give up. I was sick last night, and all the garbage threads were getting to me. It didn't seem worth trying to save in the face of all the raw sewage that seemed to be floating around. But a good night's sleep (well, not that good, with fever and chills and all), I'm feeling better now, so I'll give it another go. There are good people here, and, yes, some good people that have lost their way, but mostly I object to what MA Dem calls "the Lords of the Flies," by which I assume she meant the trolls playing their game of "lets you and him fight."
