Richardson says Clinton camp "really ticked me off"
Source: The Seattle Times - 4/12/08

SANTA FE, N.M. — Before he endorsed Barack Obama, before he drew the wrath of the Clintons and was compared to Judas, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson nearly endorsed Hillary Rodham Clinton for president.

But Richardson hesitated, and as the Democratic campaign turned ugly, he grew angry.

There was the "3 a.m." TV ad, in which Clinton questioned Obama's personal mettle. "That upset me," Richardson said.

There were some ham-fisted phone calls from Clinton backers, who questioned Richardson's honor and suggested that the governor, who served in President Clinton's Cabinet, owed Hillary Rodham Clinton his support. "That really ticked me off," Richardson said.

7. Read the article.
Because, since you didn't, it would appear you don't have an earthly clue what you're talking about.

Richardson was a terrible candidate and is now just desperate to keep his name in the news.

I just think that Richardson was a terrible candidate who is desperate to keep his name in the news.

I can still remember when he told us homosexuality was a choice. He would have made a great GE candidate. :eyes:

17. Article in the LATimes today said he also didn't like the Clinton...
...entitlement mindset.

He compared Obama's style to the Clintons' style in trying to get his endorsement.

Obama "wooed" him. Obama dialed Richardson direct (no aide dialed the number and got Richardson on the phone), and they talked for hours on policies.

The Clintons "strong-armed" him. He would get 8 calls a day from the Clinton camp, and many of them told him he "owed" Hillary his endorsement because of Bill's appointing Richardson to the two positions in the Clinton administration.

Richardson believed he had long ago paid off his debt to Bill Clinton. Richardson stood by Clinton during ClintonDick-Gate, he worked for NAFTA to support Bill Clinton, etc.

Also, Richardson REALLY didn't like that red-phone ad.

19. Again? Is this old, or is he ticked off again?
Jeeze Richardson. Enough with the whining already. You ticked off so you threw a tantrum and supported Clinton's rival.

That says more about you than anything. I misjudged you.

21. YOu know what I like about Richardson?
He's real.
A real person, not a groomed, manicured, polished pol.

but a real, down home, blue collar,
speak-from-the-heart kinda guy.

Sure he says things, shoots from the hip,
and causes groans from the liberals...

But he is who he is...
likeable, personable, a big lug of a guy with heart.
He's the kinda guy you want as a neighbor,
coz you know he'd watch out for ya.
The kinda guy everyone invited to their
barbeques, and baptisms, coz he's at home with everyone.
The kinda guy who has heart of gold,
and in the end, does the right thing,
even if it pisses others off..
He woulda made a great president...
maybe in a former time.

but I still like him.
So there...
