Obama is showing a political tin ear
Look, you can argue whether or not he's an elitist, or the merits of what he said, but in the sound bite world that we live in, the comments did not come off sounding very good. Yes, you could explain away his comments during a 5 minute discussion, but Americans don't listen for 5 minutes -- they listen for 10 seconds, and the 10 seconds is what is going to be played over and over.

The tin ear part comes because when you make a mistake -- admit it. Instead, he dug his heels in insisted how right he was until the heat got too hot.

Obama is an excellent candidate, and this is his to win. But I got a whiff of arrogance and condescension in both his comments and his reaction to the reaction. Sometimes you screw up and words don't come out the way they should. Its not the end of the world, but as the old expression goes, sometimes when you're in a hole, the best thing to do is stop digging.

20. Don't you want to know what..
you are accusing people of? It's kind of funny when you think about it. One day he can't get elected because he is black, and the next day he is an elitist..

2. consciousness of or pride in belonging to a select or favored group.

1. The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources.
2.
1. The sense of entitlement enjoyed by such a group or class.
2. Control, rule, or domination by such a group or class.

18. You're right, he has consistently won
But that doesn't make him Superman. Like i said, i cringed when I heard what he said, and like Skinner said, this may have legs. Its his to lose, but pride goeth before the fall.
