"The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing '*** Bless America.' No, no, no, *** damn America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people."
Just Words?
"*** damn America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people ...*** damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. *** damn America for as long as she acts like she is *** and she is supreme."
Just words?
"We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye."
Just words?
"We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America's chickens are coming home to roost."
Just words?
"We started the AIDS virus ... as a means of genocide against people of color."
Just words?
In a campaign appearance earlier last month, Sen. Obigot said, "I don't think my church is actually particularly controversial."
Yes, just words.

4. Please. Only in the "netroots" is MLK compared to Rev. Racist |
|
Of course the netroots also consider Obama the second coming of Lincoln.

Because in the netroots people have actually read some of the more controversial things the dear Dr. King said.

14. Far different time, Jake |

That was four decades ago. Aren't we now in a "post-racial" era or is electing Obama prerequisite for reaching that?

9. read up on your history there bucko |
|
MLK was arguably the most hated man in America when he died. And was considered by many anti-America because of his criticism of the government for its role in Vietnam. Public Education taught history has a way of sugar-coating things.

" word are only abstractions. . .they are foxholes for feelings."
We feel a myriad of feelings simultaneously. Some people look at things through a singular prism. Some look through a dualistic prism.
I look through a multidimensional prism and I can feel hope and bitterness simultaneously. I can feel bitterness about what's transpired in this country over the past several years.
I can feel hope for better more responsible leadership to come.
I can believe we should be held accountable for our atrocities and be blessed for our benevolence.
It blows my mind that people can see multiple points of view.
