Hillary campaigning in Valparaiso, IN..I watched |
|
this today on CNN and I was impressed with Hillary...she was charming, funny, inspiring, full of hope for the future...Her impersonation was hilarious. I have seen speaches of Obama and this is the first time I had time to watch her campaign and I felt a stir in my heart. A message of hope should encourage people about the good qualities still in their life not what they are bitter about. Everyone knows this country is on the wrong track and it needs change, but I think a message about hope should lift a person up and show them that they still have integrity and dreams and hopes..not despairs, frustrations, antipaty, and anti this and anti that. She was very personal when talking about that company...I cant recall its name...which had to close in Valparaiso and the jobs were outsourced to China. I smiled when I saw that sign "Real me for Hillary".
I turned on the tv to cnn, which despite what many may think, is the BEST show on tv for news, and I saw that live broadcast I quietly sat down and watched it. I was glued to my seat. I am normally surfing the internet for many hours and down watch much television, but today I am glad I did. So what if she lied or misspoke or have a husband who cant keep his mouth shut. It is the issues that are important to me. What she is going to do for people like me that is important to me. I have grown up my entire life believing all politicians lie and so I have to vote for one who lies not the least but lies about the unimportant things. Back in 2004 there was something about Kerry I could not trust. I did not like Bush and there was no way this self respecting democrat would vote for him. But Kerry....I always trust my instincts about people and they are never wrong and my instincts about Hillary is that she will bring about change. She will bring back jobs to America. She has America first in her heart. She will fight for free health care for everyone. She will do everything she sets out in her campaign promise to do. I was sadden those many years ago when she was stopped cold by the republicans on universal health care, but it will not happen this time. Democrats have the edge in Congress this year.
I would like to contribute to her campign. I would like to donate the maximum of 2300 dollars but you see...I am one of those guys Obama was talking about that lost their job and I am not bitter...I dont have a gun...I cling to religion because the Bible is the best source of instruction on the way to live your life...and I dont hate immigrants...I am not frustrated...I am not bitter...But I cant make that donation because I am poor. I am unemployed. My dreams of the job I wanted---Network Administrator--was crushed on 911. The stock on technology burst and there were massive layoffs. It just wasn't the time I suppose. So I still had my hope...Not bitterness and Hillary puts winds underneath the wings of my hope. Hillary 08'

that require you to join a union and in my experience they do nothing but try to cut your benefits and your wages...So if Wal-mart is anti-union that means they are keeping more money in my pocket. I noticed you did not answer my question.

it is how this proud democrat feels...I support social justice...slap down of corporate greed...the right to bare arms-with restrictions such as no past criminal record and no history of mental illness, gay and lesbian rights, strong stance against our enemies...return of jobs to america...anti-legislative supreme court justices-take it a step further their tenure should be limited to the term of the president who chose them...Prochoice, but I am christian I believe it is wrong and immoral but it is not my right or the goverment's right to step into what is a matter between an woman and her dr...support protection of the environment...independece of forein oil...Funding to countries when we have homeless in america...I support free health care...fair and responsible tax rates on corporations selling their wares in America-In other words if you make your product here lower taxes but if you make it somewhere else and sell in in the US higher taxes..unfair trade treaties that does not protect Americans sworkers

32. But don't you realize that the unions are our best hope of |
|
achieving most of those things you claim you support?
The unions are the main organized group that can put together a collective voice for our money grubbing and self interested pols. Individuals have no power here, unless we have someone listening like Obama.
I'll tell you this...Hillary listens to unions much more than she would listen to you or me individually.

Okay the union i did belonged to was always in a constant fight with the corporations and they alwasy made concessions to the corporation...the industry I worked in a few years ago you would hit 20.00 hour in 5 years....the corporation forced the union to settle to a longer period of time 10 years...Another company in the same industry cut travel benefits and wages and they too had a union..so where did the union look out for me? So what did the union achieve for me and those others I mentioned?
BTW the industry was the airline industry....I knew a pilot who worked for United for 35 years and he retired during the time I worked there...then United jettisoned is pension....that man lost his pension and at 68 years old he had to get a job to make ends. So where did the union do this man any good? What did the union do to prevent United from sending this poor man in to financial hell?

This is the situation...I moved to California and due to financial difficulty I lost my place to live and wound up living on the street. So I decided I would go to a technical school and try to get certification in Network administration...MCSE, A+, CNA...I was working out of Labor ready-to those of you who dont know what labor ready is it is a temp service for basically cleaning up construction sites-and gooing to school. It was hard. I had to keep myself presentable because various HR people from the IT industry made their rounds on campus for perspective employees. Get a job assignment that wont interfere with my school schedule..I was going to school at night making straight A's on all test.. I was half way through with the courses then one day on a Friday morning I went into Labor ready got an assignment to work at a Mall...the job supervisors never showed up so we went back to Labor ready to get another assignment...then I saw it on television...a plane crashing into the WTC. I was stunned..I could not believe my eyes. Immediately after that getting work from Labor ready was almost impossible because work dried up and that september I watched the IT industry implode on itself...my dreams of a great paying job when up in flames on wall street and NY...so I went back home to my mothers and have been working low paying jobs ever since. I have discovered I have Bipolar disorder...depression....so I am unemployable now. So my reasons for this thread is stated above. I believe Hillary can bring change for me.

I see a therapist in a publically and privately funded mental health center that has a sliding scale of payment...My therapist is amazing..she has been there 20 years and she has degrees and what not. I asked her why she is there for so long...and she said she is good at what she does and she likes helping people not lining her pocket book from a private practice. Oh she supports Hillary BTW.

first understand I am diagnosed with Manic depression or Bipolar if you will..strange and unpredictable emotional states...and ADD...makes it hard for me to remember things on the job and follow through with tasks without forgetting anything...make too many mistakes on the job...What Hillary can do to change this is that she is for universal health care and it should included mental illness...I applaud Obama about some speach somewhere talking about autism since I have an autistic daughter...However i cannot endore Obama at this time...he needs more experience...say two more terms in the senate and he will have my vote undoubtedly.
So the above hardships make me unemployable.

It unwillingness to keep our candidates honest that we should fear. Unwillingess to challege them when they screw up is why we deserved 8 years of our rights taken away from us. Lets keep it real. Keep it honest and may the best democrat win!

lovely post and i agree wholeheartedly. you're going to get slammed on this site by the obama crowd, but there are still some hillary supporters keeping up the good fight. she will be president. there will be real change as opposed to the fluffy talk from mr. hopey mcchangey (i borrowed that from someone else). she has so much more experience and fire in her belly than he. he hasn't had to fight for a damned thing and it shows. anyway, sorry to hear about your troubles but a new day is coming. stay strong and work for her - she will prevail.
