Hah! Scranton Paper Described Obama's Words As A Bitter Pill...Then Endorsed Him
Edited on Sun Apr-13-08 01:22 PM by Me.
Via CNN. They had Senator C speaking and she told how the paper described his words. Then the reporter came on and said, it was true but what the Senator didn't say was that the paper also endorsed Obama today.

4. "Bitter pill" connotation
is that sometimes what cures us doesn't taste good. It's a bitter pill to swallow that our government has ignored the needs of the people for a couple of decades and instead acted against our interests. It's a betrayal of the worst kind, but we need to recognize it for what it is before we can begin to change it.

14. Interesting, isn't it?
I keep asking my relatives; they all say that Clinton will probably win, but not by the margin that her campaign expected.

24. The contest in PA
includes two important things: the popular vote, and the distribution of delegates. This is why for a Clinton victory to be significant in both of these, she has to win by 20 points. Not long ago, she had that sized lead. But it is looking like it may be much closer.

31. The Popular Vote Thing
has been one of her big arguments, though as far as I know she hasn't been ahead in it ever. Electoral college votes anyone?

19. Well put....
This part really says it all.

But Mrs. Clinton also is a political lightning rod. There is little doubt that a second Clinton presidency would further the deep divisiveness that characterizes American politics — a divisiveness that dug itself deep during the Clinton presidency, and even deeper during the Bush-Cheney years.

The first task for the next president is to get past that. And it might not be possible if the presidential cycle goes Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton.

26. Great and I love their timing. Kicked & recommended
And when its all said and done, here's the bottom line:

On policy matters, there are more similarities than differences between the candidates.
The real difference lies in their likely ability to build the consensus needed to realize their vision.
The advantage, in that regard, clearly lies with Mr. Obama.
