Wait, wasn't it just a month ago Hillary was damning hope and suggesting things weren't good?
"Now I could stand up here and say, let’s get everybody together, let’s get unified the sky will open, the light will come down, celestial choirs will be singing. And everyone will know we should do the right thing, and the world will be perfect, but I have no illusions about how hard this is going to be. You are not going to wave a magic wand and make the special interests disappear."

So Hill, darlin', what the hell is it? A month ago, things were too tough and you had no illusions about how hard it was going to be. But now everything is good again? Life is fine for millions of Americans on the brink of losing their jobs? It's either too hard or too easy, but it can't be both, so which one is it? Is Obama too hopeful and optimistic, or too bitter and angry? Is America facing real challenges and do the citizens know how tough it's going to be, or is life bliss for them all?

11. It's not a coincidence Clinton and McCain are using the same anti-working class line.
It's also the pro-corporate line. If anyone wanted definitive proof Clinton was the pro-corporate candidate, they need look no further than her comments toward Obama. Corporate America for years has tried to convince everyone in this country that all is good, even though working-class Americans are going under. That's how they succeed. Hell, Bush has tried doing it this year alone when he said the economy was doing decent enough.

What a joke.

You need more than 'hope' to fix what has been done to this country.

And you will certainly need more than bitterness.

17. Nope, try again.
She was for hope before she was against it. People are bitter, yet Clinton, like McCain and every other Republican, believes everything is just fine in America. People aren't angry or bitter at their government, they LOVE watching their jobs leave because of a trade agreement her husband signed and she supported. They love watching the economy falter and they definitely love the false promises so many politicians have given to these communities over the past 30 years. Face it, Clinton has now taken on a Republican talking point. Too bad this is a Democratic Primary, where people are fed-up with Washington.

Hillary does not believe everything is fine. From home-forclosures to the need green jobs.

If you think she does, then you are not paying attention.

She said people weren't bitter or angry over the conditions the country had come under over the past 7-years. In her eyes, Americans are hard-working and are content with what's going on right now. They're not angry, fed-up or bitter, they're just meh to the whole situation. Which makes me wonder why she's running in the first place. If she believes Americans are that disinterested in the economic success of this country, so status quo, why not just throw support behind McCain, who'll be Bush III?

Oh yeah, she pretty much has. Well that makes sense.

23. Sad you don't even follow your own candidate.
Edited on Sun Apr-13-08 06:10 PM by Drunken Irishman
Bill said it himself. People aren't angry, they're proud and happy. Well if they're not angry over what this country has become, then what the hell is Clinton running for? If they're happy with America and the current economic struggles, why doesn't she back out and endorse McCain, since he'll just continue Bush's policies.

Clinton now can't say people aren't happy with the government, because she herself said they're proud of it and happy about what's happened to their country. And then she tries to paint Obama as out of touch?

Americans aren't bitter or angry, so what are they? Happy? Apathetic? Is that the type of message she wants to be sending?

Bitter is unproductive. Bitter is holding a grudge. Bitter means you are very likely not to get anywhere.

That is why BITTER is nasty and a slam on rural Pennsylvanians.

27. She didn't say that.

She said she didn't meet angry and bitter voters.

Sorry, but you can't polish this turd, Clinton is using a Reagan-style attack which undermines working-class Americans.

Many voters ARE bitter and angry. They work hard, live their lives the best they can, but it doesn't change the fact they're tired and fed-up with the government. Maybe you're content with Bush's economic policies -- as it appears Hill is -- but many in American are not.

16. That speech was in RI where she insulted Obama supporters and ridiculed him.
Of all the things in this campaign that speech irritated me the most. It was a short time before (a day or two) where she shook hands at the debate in CA and attendees talked about a "Dream Team".
