HRC said it best when describing obama and his "bitterness"
Senator Obama's comments were demeaning, elitist, out of touch, and not reflective of the values or beliefs of Americans.

"Americans who believe in G-d believe it's a matter of personal faith,"

"The people of faith I know don't cling to religion because they are bitter.

"People embrace faith not because they are materially poor but because they are spiritually rich,"

"People don't need a president who looks down on them. They need a president who stands up for them."

Obama should come out with a new campaign sign. You have seen him before giving a speech he stands there with his head down and his hands clasped in front of him.....Well, I say, have him in that same pose but with his head high or rather his nose high in the air, and underneath lets the words say....

SNOB
IT'S AN ELITIST THING
YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND

Obama is trying to put a spin(again) on his own recent words and make it look like he is a victim. He is trying to get the media to report that he only said the people in PA are bitter and they have a right to be. Sorry Obama, it is not going to work.

You(obama) said:

“And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

These are YOUR words, not guilt by association like Rezko, Ayers, Wright and the others, this is YOUR view, words out of YOUR mouth. Obama, did you say you were sorry? Nope, you tried to act like it is Hillary’s fault then tried to blame it on McCain. You stood by what you said and acted arrogantly about it. There is NO SPIN on this, Obama, you said it, you meant it and you should apologize for it, not try and blame other people for it. This one is on YOU Obama! Stop trying to spin it like you actually care for the people, like you are a victim as these words say something totally different. These are NOT “just words.’

as the words ring clear today as they did years ago. It's time for you to go.

12. Why continue to lie and leave out the AT GOVERNMENT part?

This clear and willful lie on the part of the Obama haters, to leave out that he was speaking of bitterness towards government and politics... in order to distort what he said and act as if he was saying all rural folks are bitter in general.

He was talking about wedge issue voters being bitter towards government and politics.

The fact you have to lie to spin it as something else, shows how weak, desperate, and dishonest Hi-LIE-ry and her supporters have become.

Edited on Sun Apr-13-08 02:31 PM by truedelphi
The business section of yesterday's SF CHronicle carried an article with basically the same premise.

In fact one person interviewed said she was "Mad as hell, and not gonna take it."

How else can people of modest means feel when their income suddenly needs to cover a huge spike in oil and food prices??

That's quite a challenge. I don't think there is anything that Hillary can't spin. Maybe other planets, but that is only because NASA doesn't have the launch vehicles to get her to them.

10. The best refutation of this bullshit is the truth, as always.

Since when is providing the whole quote in context, spin?

The only ones spinning are the Hillary/McCain team because they think PA voters are so stupid they'll believe Obama was talking about anybody who goes to church or owns a gun, when he was clearly talking about wedge issues voters and why they vote on wedge issues.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mayhill-fowler/obama-no-surprise-that-ha_b_96188.html

Full transcript:

OBAMA: So, it depends on where you are, but I think it's fair to say that the places where we are going to have to do the most work are the places where people feel most cynical about government. The people are mis-appre...I think they're misunderstanding why the demographics in our, in this contest have broken out as they are. Because everybody just ascribes it to 'white working-class don't wanna work -- don't wanna vote for the black guy.' That's...there were intimations of that in an article in the Sunday New York Times today - kind of implies that it's sort of a race thing.

Here's how it is: in a lot of these communities in big industrial states like Ohio and Pennsylvania, people have been beaten down so long, and they feel so betrayed by government, and when they hear a pitch that is premised on not being cynical about government, then a part of them just doesn't buy it. And when it's delivered by -- it's true that when it's delivered by a 46-year-old black man named Barack Obama (laugher), then that adds another layer of skepticism (laughter).

But -- so the questions you're most likely to get about me, 'Well, what is this guy going to do for me? What's the concrete thing?' What they wanna hear is -- so, we'll give you talking points about what we're proposing -- close tax loopholes, roll back, you know, the tax cuts for the top 1 percent. Obama's gonna give tax breaks to middle-class folks and we're gonna provide health care for every American. So we'll go down a series of talking points.

But the truth is, is that, our challenge is to get people persuaded that we can make progress when there's not evidence of that in their daily lives. You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. So it's not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

Um, now these are in some communities, you know. I think what you'll find is, is that people of every background -- there are gonna be a mix of people, you can go in the toughest neighborhoods, you know working-class lunch-pail folks, you'll find Obama enthusiasts. And you can go into places where you think I'd be very strong and people will just be skeptical. The important thing is that you show up and you're doing what you're doing.

14. And Eli Wiesel put it beautifully when he said..
“I have not lost faith in God. I have moments of anger and protest.
Sometimes I've been closer to him for that reason.”
--Elie Wiesel

I believe anger, bitterness, disillusionment are powerful emotions which are step forward on the path of healing. When we don't acknowledge our true feelings, we can't heal. I'm bitter. So he spoke for me, at least.

be good enough to atone for this mortal sin? Must he slaughter a few ducks and throw down a few boilermakers to get back in the good graces of the non-elites? God help us if she ever decides phone sex workers are a viable demographic.

Golly Gosh, man she ain't going to get the election unless she steals it.

Is this what you want from your candidate??

People accuse Obama supporters of having drunk the kool-aid but man, you sure put a lot of time in for someone who could give a flying fuck about your job, your party OR your country.

It's all about her, BenDavid and her husband's "speaking fees" that net her almost a million last year....

How much of that money has gone into her campaign?
