Is it me or did Russert-Ho seem rather eager to go after this Bitterness story? |
|
Edited on Sun Apr-13-08 02:59 PM by travelingtypist
This panel is so disgusting with Matalin and Carville and Shrum and somebody I don't remember, but Tim just seemed to be twitching to get it on.
:puke:
Edited to add the republican strategist said something about the "Democrat strategy" and Carville piped in with "It's the Democratic strategy." Thank you, James.

1. Russert's a joke. He probably was anxious to go after that. |

Anything but the real issues. As long as it's political tactics, tone of voice, or hairstyles, Russert will be all over it.

6. Russert is a "controvery monger" |
|
He thrives on stories like this, it's what makes his life worth living. It fuels the false image he has of himself as an "impartial observer" of politics... just watch him feed tidbits to partisans and wait for the scavaging.

9. Unless it's the truly egregious and illegal abuses of power by the Bush administration. |

The HUGE scandals. Again, as long as the controversies have something to do with hairstyles and tone of voice, he's all over it.

As noted, he is ALL about projecting the image of being a tough intervier, and it is an image the NBC brand trumpets with him ... But, there is no doubt that he was in the middle, at BEST as a complete dupe in two of the most signficant propoganda efforts by Bushco ...
Having Cheney and other Bushco's reference the Judith Miller NYTs column propoganda pieces on his Sunday show to trump up their agenda to invade Iraq ... And, he was right in the middle of the Plame outing ... Somehow, he maintains the illusion of being the current standard bearer in TV journalism ...
But, for almost a decade, you could just see his visible disdain for D after D that he grilled with his BS, and it was only in the last year or so that he has begrudgingly started to put some of that gotch type crape at Rs ...

Hearing Mary Matalin talk about condescension and elitism = priceless!
I remember about a month ago on Meet the Press (the "oh, I lovvvvee Poppy Bush" episode), she actually said that the only people who really care about the Iraq war as a voting issue anymore were the "crazy left wing fringe". She also said that the economy is in fine shape, and that people are just freaking out about the way the looming recession is sensationalized on the news.
