Obama leads Clinton 'significantly'
Baltimoresun.com 4/13/08

For all the turbulence on the campaign front – with a heated battle underway between Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in Pennsylvania – the latest results of the Gallup Poll’s daily track released today portray the senator from Illinois with a comfortable national lead over Clinton.

The survey of Democratic voters conducted Thursday through Saturday found Obama favored among 50 percent and Clinton 41 percent.

“The latest news in the campaign focuses on remarks Obama made, first reported on Friday, about working class and rural voters being "bitter" about the economy,’’ Gallup’s Jeff Jones notes today. “Initial indications are that the controversial remarks has not yet hurt Obama -- his 9-percentage point lead in the current results (based on March 10-12 polling) is right in line with the average 8.5-point lead he held in the prior six days' tracking results.

“Also, his lead in the current results shows a slight improvement from his 7-point advantage in March 9-11 polling,’’ Jones notes. “As the story gains momentum in the press, the coming days' tracking results will measure its ultimate impact.

5. "Initial indications are that the controversial remarks has not yet hurt Obama"
It seems Obama has the capacity to turn what the corporate MSM (and Hillary) deem as bad --- into something good.

It just may be lots of Americans are "bitter" after all.

Surprise!

4. Because Dems see through the crap that's being hurled at Barack.
It's desperation time for Hillary. Barack's comments - despite the media pile-on - are not going to hurt him. He spoke the truth.

Somewhere along the line, Hillary lost track of just how angry the USA is. Very angry. Instead of speaking to that, she is criticizing Obama for recognizing it.

Big mistake. Again.

8. I think "bitter" resonates with Americans from all walks of life
and this one may only turn in favor of Obama and burnish his cred as a realist and straight-talker (not a confabulaist like Mr. and Mrs. You-Know-Who).

7. The Dems are
counting on the country's discontent with the GOP to win this election...how stupid of Hillary to even make that statement.

The GOP, since 06 are fearful they will lose the Whitehouse and the majority because of this angry discontent, of the American people.

This is going to blowback right in Clinton's face. People are angry/bitter about their voices not being heard...we saw the results of that in 06. Is she out of her mind? Playing GOP smoke and mirrors games.

10. I guess the main reason we havent heard of this lead of Obama's is that...
Paris Hilton had another car crash.

Just shows the importance of these closely-followed polling scores.

By the way folks, there will be NO caucuses in the GE.

21. What if he can't defend himself against Republican attacks..
That might be a question to e-mail the campaign, asking them to give you some ideas if Obama is going to be the nominee.
We should be ready to defend him...agreed?
