Am I The Only One Sick of These X-Gate Scandal Namings?
Edited on Sun Apr-13-08 04:47 PM by tritsofme
I mean look at this incomplete list on Wikipedia, its really getting old:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_scandals_with_%22-gate%22_suffix

Between "snipergate" and "bittergate", its really getting lame, there are three or four threads on the front page right now that refer to some "gate" scandal.

"Gate" scandals are so thirty years ago, lets try to be creative.

2. Nope.
I find the repetitive use of "*gate" boring and unimaginative.

5. What are we supposed to do?
How am I supposed to know that something's scandalous unless it ends with the suffix -gate?

But it is a little annoying that everyone knows about Watergate but relatively few people could name the building where Ellsberg's shrink had his office, which was the first of the Plumber's crimes.

6. Trust me, you're not the only one
It's gotten to where each and every utterance or action by a candidate automatically generates a new gate. Totally lame.
